Robert's number one priority is the wellbeing of his dogs. We have purchased 2 dogs from him, and they are worth EVERY PENNY. If you want a dependable, extremely loyal, intelligent, fast learning dog that is GREAT with and protecting children, protecting your home, and very eager to please you Robert has the dog(s) for you! I am currently suckering my husband into buying us a female to add to our family on our 5 acres!! As long as Robert is breeding his beautiful lines of German Shepherds we will continue to purchase from him as well as send anyone who is interested in getting a German Shepherd to him!! Yes the dogs cost money, time and commitment. If you don't have ANY of the three then no need leaving a 1 star review for such an amazing dog breeder.

Updated 12/28/2021...Despite our frustration with SHGS when we were trying to get a puppy (see original review below), I remained impressed with his obvious knowledge of the breed. Because of that, and, in part, because after posting the original review, he called and completely owned it, we decided to have him train our German Shepherd puppy. That turned out to be a good decision. He clearly understands training Shepherds, and the difference before/after was striking. Moreover, he was patient in helping my wife and I understand how to carry forward his work, and he provides additional training with us to help us continue to learn how to make this work at home. This experience was night and day from our first, and it speaks to the value of giving someone a second chance when they are willing to own it when things don't go well. If you are looking for training for your dog, then I recommend SHGS as a good option for you.Original review:I have no doubt that he knows his breed, but after rescheduled appointments and no call backs and a ton of wasted time and effort, I can only conclude he is far more interested in his military and LEO clients to be bothered by a person off the street wanting one of his puppies. If you are interested be warned that you are far more likely to find a waste of time than the puppy you are looking for.

Website impresses with comprehensive breed knowledge and compassion.However, it hasn't been updated in years AND shows dogs with that crouched look, instead of the breed's original straight back and healthier hips. Four-digit prices.

Nice guy he had problem with his well pump went there to help him so he could water all his dogs . made another trip to schwarzer to do eletrical work for him got to see some of his dogs they are great looking saw him doing some training as well he good at What he does dogs well taken care of and plenty to chose from and he's a great guy
