We would highly recommend under no circumstances leaving your RV for repairs at Camping World Calera. Our RV that we have owned for 2.5 years has been there for 18 months this week, 1.5 years. They have been in possession of it longer than we have in the time we've owned it. We hit a mule deer and was in need of body and windshield repairs, the main ones being grill and windshield replacement. We also requested some regular maintenance be done while it was there such as having the roof resealed. They are the only certified repair center in Alabama for National General, our RV insurance. For the first year it was there we were told they were waiting on the backordered windshield, but then 6 months ago were told that they can not do windshield replacements there and we would need to find somewhere else to have that done once we get our RV back, which we haven't yet. Apparently they were waiting for parts to come in on a repair they cannot complete at their facility before starting the rest of the repairs. They have also stated they are unable to repair or service our generator which is one of the repairs needed. I have spoken with several customer service agents at the corporate level and been assigned case managers and case numbers. We still have no RV or resolution. We owe $2700 for our maintenance repairs which we are fine with, but they have been waiting on a supplemental approval from insurance for $1700 for the last month. Keep in mind we are still going to have to go elsewhere for our windshield replacement and generator repair after 18 months of no use of our RV. I feel as though Camping World should eat that amount for their incompetence and miscommunication. Update: We finally were able to pick our RV up and I will share some photos of their work. The front was painted, poorly, to match the vinyl on the rest of the vehicle. I could've painted it better to match. The broken wire mesh under the grill was reused instead of replaced. Stairs were fixed, but now the threshold isn't screwed down and sticks up. LED lights were glued on terribly with glue dripping down the front. And lastly all the furniture in the front only is flaking off everywhere since we picked it up, so make sure yours is stored with window coverings down. We have paid for covered, climate controlled storage the entire time we've owned it, so this damage wasn't present before we dropped it off 18 months ago. We were told by corporate we would be compensated for "loss of use" but are still waiting to hear from someone on that.

The sales person was helpful.Don't know why it takes 2 hours for paperwork to start the deal and 3 more hours when you pick it up.The tech that was showing us around our purchase, for our walk thru, didn't know much about it. Told us that they had washed the windshield but failed to show us the Crack in it.They did let us stay a few days in their "campground ", parking lot, to move our stuff over.

There were some very nice people on the financial end. The reception people were not great for example, I asked the young receptionist to ask my salesman Steve if he recieved the insurance information, she said cant you ask him when you see him.There were multiple situation throughout the day like this. My sales guy was nice but misinformed myself and my wife about the functions of the RV(Self Leveling, ect). Then we called Heartland manufacturing and gave them our Vin of the RV. Heartland manufacturing said our RV came with an Air Fryer oven but ours just had a regular oven when we picked it up. Our RV was also missing the spare tire but Heartland Manufacturing said it did not come with a spare. Overall our experience with Camper World is mixed emotions. The guy that did the walk through was very nice and professional. We are going to pursue the Airfryer issue with the manufacturer. I have forwarded this to Camping World in Calera AL. and will update this review with the resolution.So, we are still working with Heartland about the Airfryer Stove. Camping World did call and was very nice and understanding about our situation. They are making some concessions to make our past experience better and did apologize and are looking forward to correcting the situation and seeing us again. I am going to go back very soon and see if we have a better experience shopping there. Thanks Camping World for the follow up and willingness to make changes. I wanted to thank my sales person (can’t remember their name I’m sorry) but especially Zaine in finance. He was very thorough when explaining my financing and what coverages helped me. Even after my walkthrough(I think that’s what they call it) he even gave me more recommendations for camper maintenance that we bought in the store before leaving and if I had to rate our time there it would be 11/10. Thank you guys!

I purchased a travel trailer in dec 2023. Upon arrival I was asking for quotes of specific travel trailer with a breakdown on costs. I specifically told Sal NOT to run my credit. He ran my credit and I confront him and his manager who ran my credit. I also told Him NOT to run my husbands but what did they do? Ran my husband who WAS NOT present. They felt the need to do it because he was in the system 60 plus days ago and felt entitled to. I did confront Sal and his boss. I decided to purchase from there due to the fact I did not want my credit ran again.Well, it’s been nearly two months and I HAVE NOT received my license plate or registration. I have been contacting their camping world by phone and Sal personally my text and he is either not at work, the titling clerk is not in, and the store manager says he will get to us and has not. It has officially been about two weeks of us consistently requesting help with our registration.I specifically told Sal once he made the sale with us we would not hear from him because that is what most sales men do.Thankfully, no issues with my travel trailer but horrible customer service.DO not buy from here.

If you need a kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and patient salesperson “Sal Alonzo” is who you need to ask for. My husband and I drove from Cullman to Calera to do business with him. From the first phone call to after set up and having only a few minor issues Sal was only a text or phone call away with the help we needed. It may have been late when we left the day of purchase, but Sal and his guys completed what usually is a two day process in less than 8 hours. Everyone there was so kind and worked as a team, were very patient and informative as well. With it being our first RV purchase we left feeling very confident and pleased. Thank you Sal and Camping World Calera!

Sadly I have been to a bunch of dealerships and haven’t met any salesperson that could tell me any specifics. “Here it is” , “ “do you like it?”I was able to speak with the now Finance manager I think? Because my salesperson grabbed him and he explained every single aspect of the camper. The warranty details the length, weight, how the tankless water heater worked. I didn’t have a question that he couldn’t answer without having to go Google it. He even knew that the camper we liked most was tongue and groove flooring and 14 inch centers which wasn’t anything I thought to ask about. Give this man a raise! If you shop here, the sales people are very polite but if you want specifics ask them to grab Zaine. He was a Godsend.We haven’t decided on a layout yet but I’m not buying without talking to Zaine first. The Retail store was also wonderful, Jade was super nice!My visit here was night and day compared to Great American next door (they wanted to run my credit before even showing me around) and even when they did show me campers they showed me 2 and said it was all I could afford. Campingworld looked at my credit and had 20+ options. I halve seen bad reviews about camping world but I’m glad I live close to the Calera location because I am more than impressed with them

She knew everything about each camper we looked at and answered all of our questions. We will definetly be a returning customer just based off of our experience with her! GO SEE HEATHER!

Would highly recommend these guys. Steven, the salesman was very knowledgeable and friendly. The parts department and service guys are very good as well and have gone out of there way a couple of times to make sure we were happy. I would recommend this CW location to anyone looking for a new camper, parts or service.

Absolutely worthless. Do not buy any camper from Camping World. Bought mine from Camping World, and first time out found it had leaks in the plumbing. Took most of a week to even get them to return a call and then refused to honor the warranty and fix it. They don't even do the respectable, honest thing and fix a NEW camper they sold me not in working order. A product they sold that the customer will be paying off for years and they sell it broken with refusal of repair less than a year in on it's first trip out.

I will NEVER use this place again we were sold “what was supposed to be a BRAND NEW Camper 2022” and we have had nothing but issues with this camper since the day we bought it. Three weeks into having the camper we had to take it back up there bc the converter went out. Then it started pouring water inside the camper. Took it up there in December. Put it on consignment, paid every payment on time has been sitting on there lot for 4 months got it back on 3/20/24 put it on our lot went back inside the camper that Saturday 3/23/24 water pouring inside of it again. They never touched it!

Loved the camper selection and have not yet decided what we want to purchase but I did speak with Zaine in Finance and he made me feel a lot more comfortable about the way their financing works. He full disclosed everything we asked about versus car dealerships or other Rv places where they act like they are guessing. When we decide on a camper we want. Zaine to be there to assist us! Update:======Please feel free to read the below Original Post first, so that you are not dismayed by this update. Now down to business... Take everything that you are about to read with a grain of salt. Everyone makes mistakes and sometimes they only say what they are taught to say or heard from other people. That being said... when you are sitting in a sales pitch and someone tells you about all the Free Benefits of being a member it is much easier for them to try to sell you something with added value.Luckily for me I did not accept or see the added value for any of the other options that were offered to me. Obviously some people may want some of the other features like travel assist or break down insurance. But with my knowledge and background and excellent insurance I did not need any of these additions.All of this aside, the problem that arose was that the Buggest Free benefit that I was told was part of the membership was actually untrue. Don't get me wrong the people are very nice and pleasant to talk to... but when you are told that you get to stay at any Camping World RV site for absolutist Free at No Charge.. it all it looks like a really good deal! Up until you find out it's Not True at All.Every location that my fiancé and I called while planning our trip to Wyoming told us that they either did not have RV sites or that there was a Fee to use their sites. Shame on Camping World of Calera for telling us this farce in order to get higher sales on added value memberships! It's a good sales pitch... but its untruthful!!!Original Post==========Customer Service at this location is Top Notch. Stephen Wright was an exceptional salesperson who is well knowledgeable of their RV's and features. Earnest did a Great Job showing the In's and Out's of the purchased RV and its daily operations. And finally Zaine, their finance manager did a great job explaining and going ovet the whole paperwork process. Each person I came into contact was professional and well versed in their role in the purchase of my New Forrest River Wolf Pup Limited Trav Trailer. All in All... we are very pleased with our experience at Camping World! They give a Big Business feel while making it feel like a Small Town relationship. Great Job everyone!!!

Me and my family went by there a year and a half ago and worked with Zaine. We came back in and were disappointed to learn he wasn’t selling anymore but saw him before we left and found out he is doing Finance now so we decided we weren’t going to buy from Burton’s anymore as long as Zaine was still there. We are currently trying to narrow down our camper search but if you’re looking for a camper we have never met anyone that knows more. Ask for Zaine and you’ll get every answer you needed and leave happy. Thanks again Zaine!

This is my opinion that was influenced by my own personal experience. We were manipulated into purchasing a new trailer unit in April 2023 at Camping World in Calera. The unit, although new, had multiple imperfections however, the salesman assured me that I could bring it back and have it repaired at zero cost. I also received emails stating there were a couple recalls that needed to be handled to keep the warranty. I dropped the unit off on November 3rd and received a voicemail on December 13th that it was ready for pick up. We drive from Tuscaloosa with expectations we would be driving home with our camper in tow. But no, we get there only to discover our camper had been flooded!!! The bathroom, kitchen and living area all soaked with standing water! We have never experienced any leaks or problems prior to this! The only explanation I can think of is someone must have left our doors open. Of course they denied this and made it seem that it was no big deal and if WE WOULD LIKE, we could leave it for a leak test. As if I would be taking it home flooded!!!! Well fast forward to today, the service manager, Joseph/Nathan Stephenson told me he was 95% sure the water came in through a leak from the slide-out due to US not blowing off the pinestraw on the roof!? We don’t even have pine trees on our property but regardless how is this our fault when they have had our unit since November 3rd? I tried to take the humble approach but after Nathan made multiple rude and condescending remarks I decided the call was no longer going to be productive or beneficial so I decided to end the phone call. Also, Nathan bragged that he has had many clients attempt the “attorney” route and are unsuccessful due to how big camping world is and also because I signed a work order stating that camping world is not liable for damage on their lot (this is not true, they are liable). Pretty much he said good luck without saying good luck. Via email I asked for his supervisor’s contact and all he replied back was “ My supervisor here at the dealership?” After I said sure, I’ll take any and all contacts he would like to share he then stated he could not give me his supervisor’s contact and said i quote “ Contact corporate. You will find all information needed on our website.” Also, I'm sure my unit was not winterized and now who knows what will be wrong. In my opinion, this company is a scam and prides itself on hiring the most egotistical, master manipulators, never wrong, so called “men”. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere, anywhere else but HERE! Also, if you have to deal with Nathan/Joseph Stephenson, i genuinely feel for you but know you are not alone. I too, am struggling with his gaslight behavior.
