New to town. Gave the pharmacy four chances to fill prescriptions as promised and have never been on time...even ended up being next day, then wasn't ready and had to return later. Had 35 mins until closing to fill two prescriptions and told me they wouldn't fill them until the next day...came from ER so needed the meds. More to the whole story but really frustrating trying to work with them. Have already told doc to call my prescriptions to Publix. Wouldn't recommend the heartburn of doing business at this pharmacy.

Had to get a Covid and flu rapid test. Pharmacy techs were busting their butts and were still so friendly and helpful. Melissa was so sweet and helpful regardless of all the chaos going on. Also, they said that it would take 30 mins to have my results and it only took 15. Thank you guys!

Pharmacy drive-thru is unbelievably slow, or better yet the pharmacy is closed during the hours they are supposed to be open. After 3+ years of frustrating experiences I will be transferring all of my prescriptions to another pharmacy.

Specifically regarding the pharmacy- regularly out of medication & perpetually understaffed. This has been the case for several years now. It's challenging to get anyone on the phone, if you can at all. This is especially frustrating when you are having to transfer a prescription to a different pharmacy or have any other need that is outside the scope of their automated system. Also, as others have noted- do not bother making an "appointment" for any sort of immunization. If they are too understaffed to answer the phone in a reasonable time, they won't be able to honor your appointment either. I tried this once and won't do it again. Have also seen others standing around waiting for their appointment well past the time it was scheduled for.

I stopped in to get a flu shot and pick up a prescription after work. Despite being extremely busy and obviously short staffed, they were so sweet and kind! Shout out to Brittany and the pharmacist for their kind demeanor and smiles! They were super sweet and thanked me for my patience. The whole world is short staffed, be kind to those who showed up!

Walgreens on Clairmont Ave. is my favorite store. The pharmacy staff is awesome. Yes, they sometimes are short of staff. But so are other business in the Birmingham area. However, they utilize their pharmacy to the fullest capacity to meet the customer's needs. They are friendly and concerned about customer's well being. I have been a customer since 2013. I live only five minutes from Walgreens on the Parkway. However, I continue to trade at the Walgreens on Clairmont due to my the relationship and trust I have built with their pharmacy staff.

Went in to see if they had an antibiotic for my sick 5 year old that my local pharmacy was out of due to back order issues. They did and I asked for it to be transferred. I said that I would be waiting. 1 hour later the rx had not even been transferred. My sick child and I had been sitting in the waiting room the entire time with no update. Completely unacceptable. We left and Publix is now filling the rx. Communication is key in customer service.UPDATE!!!! this pharmacy finally called my local pharmacy TWO days later to get the copy of my child’s ANTIBIOTIC. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. Thankfully Publix had already done what a normal, professional pharmacy is supposed to do and transferred and filled the rx.

I went to this Walgreens to have a passport photo made. There was only one cashier at the time who was having issues, she called a manager and 2 managers came up there with another cashier. As they were walking back around the counter, I asked to get the photo taken, all three of them were there. The manager Melissa said to just sit in the chair and she would get someone. 20 minutes later the other cashier came back up (all the while there was atleast 6 customers waiting to check out) I asked is there someone who can come take this photo? She said “oh I can do it for you”. I was thinking “why didn’t she do it in the first place instead of making me wait? So I asked and she said EXCUSE ME!” I don’t tolerate a cashier to get an attitude with me well, so I asked for the manager and she finally came, how I know her name is Melissa and the other lady came, and they said “they were busy with another customer??? No other customer was there, they were all at the front trying to check out. She got an attitude when I asked what the first young girls name was and said “I don’t give my associates name out” for me to call corporate and I did. And they asked what the associates name was???And as I left BOTH managers left the cashier area and left the one cashier there alone, with 6 people in line to be checked out.Never again will I step foot in that Walgreens, and as for those people I saw waiting in line, they should have left their items in the floor. And for the only cashier I seen working, I would look for another job, cause they are not doing her right at all. She deserves better. I manage 11 stores and if one of my managers did this to ANY of my customers, they would be unemployed. They are supposed to be held to higher standards

Patient care doesn't exist here. They have a philosophy of patient disdain. I recently moved into a house in the neighborhood, and at the same time my employer switched insurance providers and forced me to leave CVS because BCBS is more concerned with profits and strong-arm negotiations than ensuring patients have access to prescriptions.Since switching to Walgreens on Clairmont Ave. in January 2022, I have yet to be able to pick up a prescription when it was due. I have a monthly prescription which, by state law, cannot be picked up less than thirty days after the last prescription was picked up. I wasn't able to get my January prescription until the tenth. Then, I couldn't get my February prescription until the 22nd. I still haven't been able to get my March prescription (it's April 7th today). They tell me there's a shortage, yet I never had an issue before going to this pharmacy. They'll tell me a delivery is coming tomorrow whenever I call, but then when tomorrow comes, suddenly it's the next tomorrow when the delivery will come. They won't fill my prescription automatically when inventory arrives. I have to call and request them to fill it at a time when they have inventory, which is always tomorrow. If I don't call, they'll give those pills to someone else, supposedly. So basically, I have to call every day. That's lame, but it wouldn't be that big of a deal, except that you can't get a person on the phone at this pharmacy in less than half an hour.Yesterday, I put in my bluetooth earbud and started the call when I was leaving work (downtown Birmingham). I drove to the pharmacy, got in the very long and slow-moving line, all while still on hold. I waited in line for twenty minutes, during which one guest was fully helped, the line moved forward one step, and no one answered the phone. Finally, when I was two spots from the front of the line, I got someone on the phone...and they didn't have my prescription.Since I had her on the phone and was already in line, I asked if I could go ahead and pick up my other prescription which I was previously told was in stock. It's similarly controlled and used to be on the same timing, at the beginning of the month, but because they couldn't fill it last month until the 11th, I can't pick it up now either. It's actually the same medication as the other prescription, but in super low dosage and not time release. The woman on the phone actually then tried to lecture me about wanting to pick up my prescription early. She said "Why do you even need it when it hasn't been thirty days?" I need it because I've already waited in this long line and don't want to have to do it again twice more in the next week because you can't get your pharmacy organized.

what is the point of allowing the option to set your pick up time if the staff cannot abide by your request? it also isn't very vise to throw a new person on a register that clearly has no idea what he's doing during a busy peak.

Really poor communication at pharmacy. Was told my prescription would take 20 minute to fill. I had just left from an outpatient surgery and would have gone somewhere else if it was going to be a long wait. Finally got the meds about 45 minutes later. The next day found out that I did not receive my full prescription due to insurance purposes, which they neglected to inform me about. Instead I listened to the pharmacist and techs discussed how they burned onion soup and forgot about a clients order for 45 minutes.

This Walgreen is very clean and futuristic. The pharmacy section had a comfortable look and feel to it. They had some concept sections for make-up that looked very interesting for woman. I didn't really interact with the employees but once I do. I will update my review. Lastly, The photo lab was very nice as well.

Hands down the worst Walgreens pharmacy I've ever been to. When I moved to Birmingham, I did the mistake of listing them as my main pharmacy location and I've been disappointed everytime I go there. Staff is rude and it's not just one person. I've been going there for 4 years and haven't seen one nice person among their staff. They're super slow and never answer the phone. Save yourself the headache and go to another pharmacy if you can.

waited 3 hours for post-surgery medication. they never even checked their voicemail (in which i had another prescription requested from my doctor) so once i finally got the medication, i had to wait another hour for it to be filled!!!

This was my favorite location. The service from the first professional was fine, but the second person took my phone, continuously interrupted me trying to calmly explain to the first person what she was checking on, and threw my phone at me when I asked for it back. Abismal service and the manager of the pharmacy seemed to be too occupied to help until the phone was thrown at me - To the Richard Arrington location I go - wish there were better options - maybe Publix?

I went to the pharmacy and there was a line due to the computer being down. Tiffany, the pharmacy tech, had such a sweet disposition. She really made my evening. Give her a raise or a day off, she deserves it!!!

Absolutely horrible place to shop. This Walgreens is not your local community pharmacy yet it’s a franchise that is headed no where. A sinking ship. The fact that the workers they choose to hire have no customer service skills to compensate for the lack of over priced products is beyond me. People will pay extra for good customer service. Just ask Publix. Never going back again to this location.

Manager (Lady) very rude. A couple had their well behaved dog in here tonight. They are regular customers. Dog has been here alot of times. And After they got what they were buying she comes and tells them that the dog had to get out and if he was a service dog. One the dog did nothing wrong and they were paying almost on their way out of the door two it is illegal to ask that unless the dog was making a scene. Her tone was very rude and she just was aweful. Will not be coming back to this location again. And I will be calling corporate. They need to hire better managers and employees. If they have an attitude they need to stay home.

LaToya was the only cashier she called for help and it took 15 mins for someone to come!!!! Nevertheless she provided GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Every time I go in there she always helps with no problem! I suggest the manager get that young lady some help at the front counter!! Thanks!!!

My husband had major back surgery this morning and we dropped off his prescriptions on the way home, giving the pharmacy an hour and a half to get them ready in order to stay ahead of his pain schedule. When I arrived, not only were they not ready, I waited nearly an hour before they were filled. One of the pharmacists was understanding and apologetic, the other was indignant, rude, and unapologetic. When I got back home my husband was in excruciating pain. We had been advised to stay ahead of the pain. Due to the grossly substandard care by the Walgreen's Pharmacy my husband is hurting. This is completely unacceptable.

The pharmacy needs to investigated by the Board. They are always out of medication! I saw an elderly woman who was unable to get her meds because they "forgot to order it". Personally, I consistently have problems with refills because they are too incompetent to recognize their stock levels. When the pharmacist takes the last pill out of the bottle s/he should order more! It's common sense. Quite frankly, I'm afraid to allow these stupid people to handle my medications anymore. I will never be back and I am filing a complaint with the Alabama Board of Pharmacy.

I was really appreciative of the pharmacist picking up at 7:59 PM when the pharmacy closes at 8. I didn't realize my medication was out of stock at this location until I called, and she transferred it to one that has it in stock and is open later so that I can get to feeling better quicker! Thanks Nancy!

On oct.31st at 7 PM I was ignored, left waiting forever, lied to and hung up on. The "tech" was awful, disrespectful and the pharmacist Ilene was awful as well. I videoed the interaction tonight and the phone call afterward where they thought it was funny to leave me on endless holds and then hung up on. These are critical medications. I will be taking action.

Jalen is the BEST!! He deserves a promotion! He did my passport photo and redid it (more than once) when it wasn't quite right. Manager++ material right here!! Thanks for being so patient and accommodating!

Carding nazis! I've seen them card lil old ladies so I guess I shouldn't have been surprised that they'd card someone who's almost 40 lol Since there was a Good People sale, I actually drove home to get my ID & said I'd be back. In 10min, they put my order back on the shelf! Convenience at its best. In general, expect to wait forever in line to buy anything here.

In here several times a month - super clean bc it's a newer location, but it seems there's never enough customer service people up front, so the checkout line is usually slow moving.
