I am a person who loves spicy food, so I was looking forward to the regular spicy sandwich from Champs Nashville Hot Chicken. This food stall, located at The Garden at Palafox + Main, offers authentic Nashville hot chicken, with juicy and spicy meat, soft bread, and fresh toppings. However, I underestimated its spiciness, and as soon as I took a bite, I felt my mouth on fire, and tears and snot came out. I could only barely finish half of it, and took the rest home. The staff was very friendly, and brought me water and napkins, and asked me if I wanted to change the spiciness level. I think this place has delicious hot chicken, but next time I will definitely order the smallest spiciness level, so I can enjoy it better. If you are a person who likes to challenge yourself, you can try their regular spicy or higher spiciness levels, but I warn you, be prepared, they are not joking!

Thank you so much for making my family 's Easter excellent. I place an order with your deli because my oven stopped working the Saturday morning before Easter Sunday. Even thought you had already stop talking orders for that night, you took mine anyway and told me it would be ready when I got there at 8:00 o'clock on a Saturday night. Not only did you prepare the order I placed for my family's entire Easter Sunday dinner, but then you even blessed me with a discount for it. I appreciate you so much and that's why I visit so often. Midtown Publix continues be my favorite location to visit and I am always greeted with a smile. Also , thank you for giving that lovely peace Lily , in which ,by the way was free of charge. I know my review has 5 stars on it, but you deserve 10 stars for having the best service over all..⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐You are always, clean ,always courteous and always greet me with a smile,Thank you.😇😇😇

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at the pharmacy 😃. Jessica has such a genuine and friendly personality and was very helpful! And Brandon, the pharmacist on duty, was also very outgoing and very knowledgeable. I will definitely be back! Not to mention the great prices

Food and products are great customer service is great depending on who you are. But if you're not one of their favorites or if you're simply unwanted for reasons unknown then they will let you know that you are not welcome and we promise to make each and everyone of your visits very uncomfortable and unpleasant. This is my personal experience and options but I think overall it's a good store that could be great and that's the reason I keep going back lol.

My 1st time shopping at a Publix, much less having to park in a garage and take an elevator down ... the service was off the charts ... I was there due to my dad having brain surgery at the VA ... employees didn't know that ... from the deli females, random employees asking (i did have a, I'm lost look) to the cashiers .. everyone was super nice!! The selections were great ... Thank y'all ... I appreciated more than y'all can imagine!

This public is in the center of Downtown Birmingham so parking is a nightmare but that’s everywhere. It was very clean and the staff where extremely friendly. I cannot remember the name of the woman who helped me but she went out of her way to get me what I needed. I was able to walk here from visiting a loved one in the hospital which was a bonus because I didn’t have to pay for parking again and the walk was short and easy. When I arrived at this Publix they were out of fresh fruit and the only reason I made the small journey was because my loved one was craving pineapple and I wanted to get him some. I asked one of the staff if they would be able to cut a whole pineapple for me if I bought one and instead of doing that this woman, who didn’t even work in produce, found her supervisor and he cut me a fresh pineapple. It was an act so small but it meant so much to me and my loved one. Something as simple as a pineapple warmed my heart because it was the only food my loved one had craved in days and it was great to be able to give him that. They also had a very large supply of heath drinks which he also enjoyed. The kindness shown to me here and a beautiful breath of fresh air compared to what I’m used to at other grocery stores.

It’s nice to have one downtown with a parking garage entrance. But working grocery delivery, it’s often low stock on most items and not clean by comparison to other locations.A lot of the employees are great, but some of the young baggers are frustrating the way they bag stuff. I get that yall are short staffed and it is a busy location—but there’s no reason for them to rush bagging items by basically throwing them without any rhyme or reason. Like why do I need to remind the young boys NOT to put cleaning products in the same bag as food, or remind them to bag raw meat separately, not to place soft items like bread or bagged lettuce/greens with a jar of pickles on top?? Or one yogurt out of four with dog food. 🙄It’s really annoying having to re-bag my own stuff

The store offers a wide selection of products and a clean shopping environment. However, my experience was marred when staff refused to accept my valid state-issued virtual ID for an alcohol purchase. While I appreciate the importance of upholding regulations, acknowledging and adapting to modern, official forms of identification is equally crucial!

A little pricey. The store is always clean. The associates are always pleasant, speak, and smiling. I am a FAN of the pharmacy. Everyone who I have encountered was really nice. Genuinely nice and always willing to help. You guys rock.

Whenever I go to this Publix, it's always clean, and the staff is really helpful. One of the best things about this Publix is its parking deck, which is very nice when it storms outside. The only downside to this Publix is that it isn't as large as the freestanding Publix, but they make you feel and think that you are in a freestanding store. The only semi negative experience I had at this location was when I went there for unch and one of the ladies fixing food was agitated, and you could hear it in her voice. She wasn't directing it at anyone, but you could tell she was bothered by something.

Staying with my husband while he has a transplant, it's walking distance from UAB. The staff were all friendly and very helpful this morning and their mango lemonade is delicious!

I love your store because of the convenience and friendly service. However, I won't be buying the cold deli sandwiches for my convenience any more. My favorite, ham & gouda, that I grabbed today without looking closely at it (I never had a reason to before) was a huge disappointment. Less than half the amount of meat it used to have. The shrinking portions for the same prices are getting WAY out of hand.

The store itself is great. Lots of variety. However, the associates in the deli were not as professional as expected from food preparers, resulting in a poorly prepared sandwich.

My rating would be higher if the bagger had offered to help carry my bags out (I use a cane and it is hard to get out sometimes) :( Thankfully an employee named Cas was kind enough to carry my bags for me, stopping what he was doing to do so.

The workers were really nice. The deli and seafood sections looked great. The grocery area feels a little disjointed, but overall I like this Publix.

Shopped at this location often while my daughter was in college. It’s an exceptional place! We always found what we needed (and more). So glad Publix is available downtown and we didn’t have to drive to a suburb. It’s so obvious that this store is well managed and its employees have been trained to respect customers!!! It provides everything that an urban resident needs.

It's 70% of a regular Publix for 130% of the money. Everything is there, just less of it. Dedicated parking in a deck above. Elevator that opens in the store. The street level pedestrian door is sometimes guarded by beggars and story-tellers. This same demographic takes turns using the store restrooms. This isn't an unusual circumstance if you frequent 2024 Urban America, but folks that think we're still a polite, logical society might be disturbed. Folks from Seattle or SFO will think it's Mayberry.Prices are Urban High but not crazy. The hot food areas are busy.Just, be aware you are downtown in a metro rather than in a standard 'Publix' and you'll be OK. Oddly, the parking deck is never a problem.Yet.

If, you park in the parking lot for this Publix, be prepared for extremely tight turns, very close parking spots and a "racetrack" style access to the "pits" where the parking is. This is a 3- Tier parking deck, with blind stop signs at each tier. Top tier parking is for residents of Midtown 20 ONLY. The middle tier is for Public Customers, while the first tier seems to be predominantly used for the Public Employee Parking. Also, upon exciting, ensure you STOP at the sidewalk level and actually LOOK for pedestrians as they will just suddenly "appear" out of thin air in front of you there. I've seen THREE "pedestrians" hit there, 1 on foot, 1 on a bicycle, and 1 on a scooter. You park on the 2nd Tier, take the elevator to the ground level where you exit to the store. IF you're Claustrophobic, the elevator is glass and you have a nice, open view of the outside world as you travel until you get to/leave the first level. So if you can hold your breath until you pop up above the ground level, you'll be fine (or you'll pass out and will awaken with strangers going through your pockets and trying to give you mouth to mouth...).OK, finally, THE STORE... Actually, not much different from the parking deck comments above. NOT a full sized Public but any means, but they stock what somebody thinks are the most popular needed/wanted items, usually. The aisles are tighter than a normal Publix store, be prepared for "traffic jams" and "wrecks" in many of the aisles. That delicious Bourbon Salmon Filet you bought there on Monday, might not be on the shelf on Friday. The employees are usually rude, uncaring, and generally "Self absorbed" in their own little worlds and have very little time, or concern for your wants/needs. I've seen more EXPIRED products still on the shelf at this location than any other Publix stores I've been to. And be prepared to bag your own grocery purchases because they'll just turn and walk away after they take your payment. Please, ENJOY your Shopping Experience at the Midtown 20 Publix!

We visited this store yesterday. The pharmacist was super nice and helpful. We also picked up a few grocery items. It's Publix so of course everything was of quality, and even though I couldn't understand her. She was very friendly.

Grocery store of course, but it is always clean and the workers are always friendly and helpful. The pharmacy workers are great. I love the deli and the fresh hot chicken and sides. The bakery does wonders with their birthday/occasion cakes. Great deals too.
