I was planning on making my son a strawberry shortcake for his 3rd birthday… as you might guess it didn’t go as planned. Once I walk into the establishment I head straight to the “produce” if you can even call it that. Immediately I smell a raw chicken smell but I don’t judge my son comes first. Once I make it to the “produce” section all the fruit is rotting and flies are gobbling the rotten fruit up, I was shook! My son wouldn’t be able to get his strawberry shortcake, I almost shed a tear. Me being the heroic mother I am I race to find something else for him, but on my way I see a busted chicken feet jar all over the floor… IT WAS RANK! And I saw an employee just standing there not doing anything! I ending up leaving out of pure disgust.

I went here the other morning and I had a little red basket to put my little groceries in wasn't much maybe four items the girl a the register dumped all my groceries out the basket some stuff went rolling down the side I don't know if she was mad or what it was very rude of her and they wonder why people go in there acting crazy on them I hate this grocery store they have more shoot outs than they have customers to shop they should close this place down

I like this piggy wiggly. They don't do that additional 10% foolishness. Everything is getting more expensive so we don't need that extra burden on the wallet.

I love the down home feel, about the store. No feeling of rush rush! Using the app in-store is great also. Cashiers are always patient and helpful. A rare commodity in this young folk generation. LoL! Please keep up the good work.

I did not love this store at all. In fact I had the rudest most inconsiderate cashier I've ever seen. However the store manager came and handled my situation with such compassion I had to give this 5 🌟 review. Thank you Sir. I left your store in tears because your cashier absolutely humiliated me and went out of her way to let everyone know what I was dealing with. She could have shown some type of discretion but she chose not to. Instead like I said she went out of her way to humiliate me. I see now why you wear a santa-claus hat!! Because you don't know that JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!!!Again thank you to the store manager for coming to my rescue.

This is the only grocery store we have on the north side. And it need to be remodel. The store has bad smell. The person that own this place need to come take a tour of this store. JUST SAD!!!

The store and employees are great. I live less than a mile away from store in clay Alabama and shop several times a week. However I had a life changing experience when I found a piece of cotton with what spears to have blood on it in my glass of pigs brand orange juice I had drank out of. I’ve not been able to get the taste of blood and cotton out of my mouth. Not been able to eat or drink anything except water since this happened earlier today. Can’t get taste out of my mouth. This is horrible feeling.

The prices were high on some items, I was not impressed and felt it's taking advantage of the vulnerable citizens of the community. My family and I also had a awkward experience where we were questioned about paying for our goods and approached at our vehicles and requested to show receipts ???? I followed up with Rick manager on duty with my concerns and assured him we would never do such and advised he allow his cashier to be his initial point of contact before confronting patrons. While I understand there are dishonest people in the world I also know first hand there are honest people as well and we are among the latter. The young lady who approached us also reached out to apologize but still had questions of our goods purchased. I don't know what's going on in Piggly Wiggly No B'ham but they need to get it together. I assured her we were charged for all our items and don't know anything about a transaction that didn't go through ????? I'm trying to remain tactful so please move on. If you don't trust the cashier take that up with her, we don't know her so she wasn't giving away any goods to us. I won't keep repeating we are honest people. If she failed to ring up any of our items let us know as we didn't do anything to deceive her or anyone .

I don't dislike the store itself and usually I have no issues. But today I did, first, there were no grocery carts in the store. Secondly, the fresh veggies were awful and thirdly, they were out of one of the items I really needed. I just left without making a purchase. I was very disappointed.

This was the first time I went to the North Birmingham location and can truthfully say that the Piggly Wiggly company really puts a lot and time and effort into giving its customers the best experience possible. I wad blown away by the amount of variety in produce, meats and select grocery items that you won't find anywhere else. The prices are reasonable for what is offered; even during a pandemic. I was given great customer service by my cashier Megan; she was sweet and very caring. I would like to extend an offer to all my Google readers to venture to Piggly Wiggly in the North Birmingham section. I won't steer you wrong.😁

Where do I begin? The store is old and desperately needs renovating I can remember when that store was built for a forget the store before Good Fair but that 20+ years (I grew up down the street and I'm 46); they price gouge and their food is mostly outdated. I know it's because it's in a poor black community. I saw how Mt. Brook rallied to keep theirs I wish they would tear this one down and forget about it if this is the best that can do for our community.

Store need more teamwork and organized when it comes into putting up stock I had to get on my knees and look in the back of the Shelf to get is seasoning that I need when all someone had to do was pull them up so customers can get you one

Worker are friendly and helpful, really a new store is needed. Or This one needs to be remodeled with, new floors new walls and everything. There are holes in the ceiling, floor and Shelves are dirty, sometimes meat and Vegetables are not fresh. Pride doesn’t seem to be taken in the Appearance of the store. compared to other Piggly Wiggly stores in Birmingham Alabama. I generally purchase food that is pre-packed and already sealed. Distal is located in the majority black neighborhoods all the stores that are located in majority white neighborhoods are in better condition, so I would say discrimination is going on. I’m quite sure you all know, but I wanted to bring it to your attention

I recently shopped at Piggly Wiggly on Clairmont Avenue South I always shop there free parking electric scooter is available and the staff is friendly. About 2 days ago I was a little bit offbeat I had had surgery and needed some assistance and the moment I asked for assistance a young lady by the name ofAlex. Beautiful young lady with a beautiful spirit she helped me with the garlic the Purple Onion looking for the White Zifanddel and a couple of other items when I get to the cash register her manager took over his name is Ciro Lopez. Shun assisted me with something entirely different the very next day when I thought I had forgotten my Alabama honey for $5.99. At home I found my receipt call Shaun back and explain to her that the Alabama honey was not on my receipt. (my bag). And what I love on top of everything else was a young black guy that assisted me all the way to the car and he loaded my groceries up and that deserved a tip you can't hardly find that anymore. Because I shop there often I do believe that he was new cause I go there every month I light complected black guy. He did it with a smile how about that. Sorry I didn't get his name. When I see him again I will get his name and edit this review. Updated today February 4th 2020. I lost my cell phone when I recently visited this store again. This happen less than 2 weeks ago. I call to the store approximately one hour after I got home I spoke with a young lady in the office. She asked me to describe my phone which I did she said yes I have it. I went and picked it up the following day I've been found out that Sandra one of the cashiers had turned it in to the office. I was so relieved and so grateful people like this like Sandra deserve a tip. I also got great service from Anthony. One other gentleman I would like to praise I cannot remember his name but when I go in in the next few days I have every intention of getting his name. This Piggly Wiggly in North Birmingham deserve a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. I especially like this store because store has so many choices. I found the hot Mexican Peppers that I was looking for. I love the prices of their T-bone steaks.

Worked at the Mountain Brook store. Just walking in you see and feel the difference. As far as the staff and management in North Birmingham I can't speak on, but in contrast, my experience in working the other was grievous.

Shopping itself is fine,I basically can get everything I need but I'm disabled and the electric carts barely work. No one thinks about plugging them up for the next customer.
