Homey butcher shop and deli that also sells a number of their own sauces, rubs, & spice mixes. Went for lunch on a Saturday, and was fairly busy. You could tell it's a regular spot for locals, and the service was friendly and fast.There are a ton of sandwich options, and many are fairly similar. It is also not clear which are hot and which are cold. Ordered a meatball sub and a Goldenberg sandwich. They were okay, but not really anything special. The sandwich was piled so high with deli chicken that the outside was hot and the middle was cold. "Cajun" appears to mean they just sprinkle a spice mix over it during assembly, nothing to do with the meat itself.

Been coming here for many years and we've known Mr. P from our first visit when he still worked full time. Very nice family. Always great sandwiches, frozen food (made by them), and full service butchershop. Many grocery items including Mr. P's line of sauces and seasonings. I highly recommend Mr. P's original marinade, great value for the money, and his bold and spicy original marinade dry seasoning. Also try the cajun style seasoning! You can't go wrong here. I don't know how things are now, but we live a few hundred miles away, we just called Mr P and told him what we wanted and he would send it. Give them a try!

Never been to this butcher shop before heard good things. I called ahead to make sure that the butcher shop was open until 6 o’clock. Wanted to make sure I had enough time to order sandwiches and also pick up steaks for five people that I was cooking for. I arrived at 3:35, and walked in and noticed the employees were closing up shop for the day. Waitress was emptying the tea and all the employees We’re cleaning up and closing up in the cooking area. I stood in front of Cash register for about a minute There was No line. There was an Older gentleman standing behind directly behind the cash register saying nothing. After an awkward 30 seconds or so, he asked what I wanted. I told him I wanted sandwiches and steaks for five people. He pointed to the left and told me the steaks were ordered over there.(I thought he meant next-door ) I moved two steps to the left, and nobody wanted to take my order. I told them again that I had steak for five people and the guy barely communicated with me something about fillets. I looked again at the older gentleman with no response and a placid face. Obviously, they did not want my business as they were trying to go home for the day. Did not get an opportunity to try their steaks. I’m sure they’re pretty good from what I have heard but I’ll head on back to Cahaba Heights where customer service means something. These guys do not want or need your business

The Cashier very helpful and friendly. The steak sandwich was out of this world delicious. I'd actually give a five star review if the older man actually working the deli would have at least smiled or tried to make me feel like I wasn't an inconvenience to him. Overall, I'll most definitely go out of my way to eat here and buy sauces the next time I'm in town.

Best. Ribeye. In. Birmingham. If you haven't bought some meat for grilling here yet, you haven't had good meat. Ask for it to be rubbed, they have an in-house spice rub that they will put on each steak if you ask for it. I am totally in love with this place.

Very good experience. We were too late to eat our sandwiches at the store but were deliciouswhen we got home. Enjoyed the Homemade Italian Sausage. And really wanting to go back to get more along with trying their crawfish pie. Nice and helpful staff.

Always have great customer service here. Was looking for a larger size of Italian seasoning (sneaky good in sauces). They were able to get me the much larger size since they were only going to sell the small size from now on. Great owner.

Excellent stop for a deli sandwich. Big selection. I ordered a turkey specialty on wheat. Moist and meaty on fresh oven warm wheat hoagie style bun. Be sure to bring cash if you want to avoid the reasonable card fee.

It has to be the best butcher / deli in Alabama.The seasons and freshness of the sandwiches are unrivaled, in my opinion. And, of course, can't go without stocking up on his fresh seasons . I love the place for what it is.

Never disappointed me. Fast, friendly, unique. Straight up, no frills, local place. You won't find a better quality sandwich anywhere. They have been up on the bluff for over half a century for a reason. Don't forget they are a full service butcher shop too. And don't get me started on their sausage....

We always buy meat from Mr. P’s! They have everything to help make a perfect Thanksgiving dinner. We visited right before closing time, and they were still so polite!! Daniel helped us and he was extremely friendly and helpful. 100% recommend for lunch, too!! Their food is amazing and they have very reasonable prices.

Went to the Ice cream shop WOW 😲 had a waffle cone with Blueberries and the best I've had in a while just right for a really hot day would Highly recommend a visit lots of flavors 🙂 also

We ordered a roast beef sandwich, a Baby T sandwich, and a Reuben. The meats on the sandwiches were good, but the sandwiches overall were disappointing. There was very little sauce on each sandwich, and they were dry and so cold they were almost hard. I also ordered baked beans. They were good, if a little over salted. We have heard their Italian sausage is the best, so maybe we will try that next time.

We ordered a ton of marinated steaks for our rehearsal dinner and everyone loved it. They are such a pleasure to do business with. I really liked the stuffed pork chops. It's a little hard to tell what they have to offer, signage or in the meat case. Please try to make some cheese burger sausage!!!!! I had it in Houston once and there's always a line and usually sold out by noon.
