I walked in the store at this location today around 1 pm and just as so the employee that was on that shift was talking smack about how a customer took 10 minutes to unlock her card the employee thought it was so hilarious. In my opinion any opinions of customers should be kept to themselves they had no care in the world who heard what no thought of care towards the customer whatsoever!

Customer service is not required to work here. The cashier seemed like she would rather be anywhere else but helping customers. There is a Now Hiring sign on the door. So maybe she is overworked.Luckily, I found the items that I came looking for. This location tends to have what I need compared to others. Not sure how soon I'll return though.

Pretty popular place, they had about as many customers on foot as they had that drove in. Employees were pleasant and eager to offer help. This store also was out of stock of the Hormel Beef Tamales and Beanie Weinies as were the previous 8 Dollar General stores we've checked! Piggly Wiggly is out of the same items too. We've been looking for 3 months!Horrible design for their entrance and exit of their pod parking lot too. Sharp 90° turns in or out st the same location, barely enough room for 2 to pass at the same time. Poor visibility and extremely limited sight range for street traffic.

It is broad day light and the store is closed with some man standing inside at the door with arms folded, like he is the Dollar General bouncer. A woman with children and walking, walked up and was turned around because of some mediocre Dollar General associate.Dollar General, why is this store closed? Are you alright with being the neighborhoods go to store, but not really being there for the community.If you cannot be what you claim to be to the neighborhood, just shutdown completely.Your associates and you Dollar General are causing people who have no cars to be turned around, or that person who is sick and has no one else to help them come to a store to just be turned around and go somewhere else. Or that person who has no gas, has to drive farther than they actually can afford to drive. Or that person who has just enough money for YOUR PRICES ONLY TO BE TURNED AWAY AND GO WHERE NOW THEY WILL GET LESS FOR THEIR MONEY.MY POINT IS WE DEPEND ON YOUR STORE, DUE TO YOU CLAIMING TO BE ABLE TO PROFORM A SERVICE. YOUR ASSOCIATES HAVE YOU LOOKING BAD. MAYBE YOU ARE OKAY WITH MEIDOCRE WORKERS, BECAUSE YOU ARE MEDIOCRE AND THIS IS YOUR BEST. I DO NOT KNOW, BUT CARE FOR YOUR COMMUNITY THAT YOU DECIDED TO BUT YOUR STORE AND COME THROUGH FOR THEM, INSTEAD OF BEING A FAIL THROUGH.

This place is in the top 10 worst experiences when it comes to customer service. I cannot believe people can keep a job in customer service if they hate dealing with people. Don't get a job where you have to represent a company through the treatment of others if you cannot handle dealing with just an ordinary Che k out with another human being

Friendly. Had what I needed. Not too bad wait in line. Some aisles a bit crowded with inventory dollies (hand trucks). That's why I didn't give five stars. I highly recommend this joint.

I have the Dollar General app and i checked it before going there. Several items were listed as being in stock, however none of these items were on the shelves! The store clerk explained that Dollar General has lost a lot of employees recently and the items are waiting to be stocked on the shelves. This is the 4th time in a month that I have tried to buy these items and not find them on the shelves! Customer Service says they can't help!

Very disorganized store. Probably not store management's fault, has more to do with Dollar General as a company.Their stores are poorly staffed, and they require the two or three people they have, to do too much.I ended up waiting at least 4 minutes for a cashier to show up.Dollar General needs to quit building stores, and maintain the ones they already have!At some point, I predict D.G. is going to find itself in a predicament.Too many stores, and not enough customers!

Overall the store was nice and clean, but they need better customer service. the cashier was very rude and nasty when I asked him a question. he’s just horrible!! I’ve never experienced anything like him ever in my life!!!

While one cashier was very polite when she had to go to the bathroom the associate who took over the register was very surly and had an unwelcoming demeanor. The order online pickup in-store designated area was used as a junk corner

I've been going to this store and shopping here for 2 years. I went in today and the white lady told me that o had to leave with my back pack on. I advised her that it was my purse and was then told to leave the store. Wow BS. After I spend at least $50 a week in this store which was my favorite. NOT ANYMORE!!!! GO AFTER 3p.m AND GET THE HELP AND ATTENTION YOU NEED WITHOUT THE JUDGMENT.

Saves me time and $$$.The cashier was so friendly and polite. I should have gotten her name! Your prices for the most part are lower than walmart. I spend roughly $70.00 every week or so.

The Dollar General located at 3011 9th Ave North Bessemer Alabama 35020 My experience with this location is you may be in luck if they are actually open. It's 9am it's 2:30pm in the afternoon. It's 3:00 pm on a Friday afternoon and my local Dollar General is closed tightly. But there are a few staff members inside standing around telling us customers outside SO SORRY WE ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED. WITH THE SAME REASON EACH AND EVERY SINGLE TIME. THE SYSTEMS ARE DOWN 👎. ITS STANDARD PROCEDURE FOR THIS LOCATION TO BE CLOSED ON A AVERAGE OF 3*A WEEK SOMETIMES MORE. WHY WOULD A BUSINESS NOT WORK DURING PEEK HRS? BOX AFTER BOX IN EVERY SINGLE ISLE NOT UNPACKED AND THE RESULTS OF THIS IS NO SUPPLIES ON SHELVES. I HAVE LITERALLY FOUND MYSELF UNLOADING BOXES TO FIND ITEMS NEEDED. ALONG WITH SEARCHING IN BACK JUST TO CHECK ON ANY ITEMS STACKED IN THE BACK. WHY IS THIS STANDARD PRACTICE AT MY LOCAL LOCATION? ALSO TO WHO IT MAY CONCERN. THE AMOUNT OF UNPACKED BOXES IN EVERY SINGLE ISLE IS A POTENTIAL DANGER. A HUGE RISK FOR A PERSON TO TRIP n FALL.

The manager at this store is a terrible person. She curses her employees, she tries to get you fired the unprofessional way, she treats the black customers different from the white customers. She doesn't do refunds with out an reciept unless you are white. She has a snobbish attitude and the DM is always in on the garbage with her.Tread lightly

Must have just got a truck that is understandable but when u have the rows blocked with stock going out and customers cant get to what they want . thats a problem when u do this u are loosing money when u cant get to the rows. Had to go to walmart and bought what i needed and took my money there inatead of ur store

The employees at the Dollar general store in Avondale Alabama I must say they are very nice to everybody regardless of our appearances let's say. It is a 360° attitude that is most welcome these days unlike the family Dollar on 1st Avenue North Woodlawn store and that is a shared opinion amongst most patrons I have come in contact with that subject of conversation is usually initiated to me I do not have to. The DG Employees are extremely nice accommodating I've been going to that store since the first day they opened I live only blocks away my fault I usually go in the evening sometimes prior to closing and they do not harass me remind me of the time follow me around like they do at the other place I mentioned they always wear their maskand and in turn for them being so nice to me usually when nobody is around to see I at times pick up litter stray carts that wander off on their own etc it's good karma, I could go on about a lot of positive things there but one thing I regret to share I am afraid that I may run out the Dollar general peanut butter with honey is a perfect mosified concoction the prices too low and none of the major brands can touch it as far as tast e spreadability none of it I average at least five yards a weekI keep k e p t i n my backpack and at times no spoon !? I'll stick a wrench down in there and scoop it out after wiping it off of course try it! With or without the wrench.🥜butter &🐝+🔧 = 🎉👅

The store is pretty good you don't even have to shop anymore everything I need locked up behind the counter so I just go to the counter and say I need baby food laundry soap cigarettes and she gets them all right there and I don't even have to go anywhere no more walk-in walk-out and might as well just put a drive-in

This one i will never go in again..staff not friendly..had a item on sale because it didn't ring up on sale but clearly shows on sale in store..the nanager didn't know how to do a price adjustment so response was "sorry" wanted me to pay reg.price because she didn't know her job..even i knew how to do that..left it all in there and went down to the other store no problem @ all..price adjustment is what should have been done instead of sorry maam..

I arrived at this store at 8:42 and they had doors locked and would not let me in the hours of operation on the doors states they close at 9:00 pm... I was very upset that the associate had doors locked 18 minutes before close time .by the way I only needed one item..dollar general you are loosing 18 minutes worth of money or more because of locked doors at this location.

This store is always cluttered, doesn't have a good selection, and there is always a long line. Worst DG I've ever shopped in. The one in Avondale is much nicer.
