I’ve always been a fan of ACE, but after running a few errands at some of the larger home/hardware stores lately, I’m a 100% loyal fan now! The sales associates knew exactly what I needed for my project and provided helpful tips and information regarding each product. AND they were SUPER friendly and welcoming!!! It’s such a bath of fresh air to encounter people who do actually love their job and where they work. They were happy to answer all my questions, suggest ideas, other improvements, etc. Both of the ladies were very knowledgeable and I was through the line in about a minute!!! No long lines or machines or those annoying ‘credit cards only’ lines.ACE IS THE PLACE👍🏼

They open at 7, but due to being short-staffed, they actually were going to be closed until 8am so the 2 employees there could off-load a delivery that had showed up at the wrong time. THEY LET ME IN TO SHOP AND NEVER SAID A WORD ABOUT NEEDING TO BE CLOSED. The guy was ultra-helpful, directed me to where I needed to find the stuff I needed, and patiently waited as I took my time trying to figure out exactly what I wanted. These folks are awesome, I can't recommend the ACE Experience enough, and Compton ACE really lives up to the name of "the helpful hardware folks".

Loved the store. I ended up meeting the store manager who was super helpful and super knowledgeable about different pieces. He and his employee even came up with a solution since they didn't have the exact piece I needed. I would recommend them to anyone who needed help finding tools.

The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable! The store has soooooo many odd parts that big box stores don’t have and it is super clean and organized. Really enjoy shopping for small stuff here. And as always, ACE can order anything you need if they don’t have it in the store!

They hound you around the store and harass you out the door, won't let you explore/shop in peace, keeping on asking you why you are there, and what you need over and over and over 😡. So annoying, gross and demeaning. If I came to your store, I know what I need, and if I needed assistance, I would ask for it.Never going back here.

I love any excuse to visit this store. Staff is super helpful and knowledgeable. They always seem to have the tough-to-find items you don’t find in big box stores. Today, it was grade 8 machine bolts in various lengths and plentiful supply for an engine rebuild. Did the auto parts stores have them? Did the big box store have them? No and no. This will be my first stop next time!

This is a great local hardware store. Surprisingly, they have most everything you would find at a big box store like Home Depot, but things are easy to find, the staff is always readily available to help, parking never a problem, and you’re in/out in much less time. Yesterday they had the specialty landscaping light bulb I needed and high quality cypress mulch also. Highly recommended….

This is my favorite hardware store! While I like the other stores like Home Depot and Lowes, but, I like the hands-on service you receive at Compton Ace Hardware. As soon as you walk into the store, you are greeted with a smile 😃!You are asked if they can help you find anything. They will take your purchases to your car for you! They have good prices and they have the best rewards program!! Ever! I purchased 2 ferns today! Beautiful!

Great neighborhood hardware store! Convenient, friendly staff, well stocked. Great alternative to the big box stores. And in addition to hardware they have a great selection of bird food and feeders, grilling supplies, and and basic pet supplies. So happy they are in the neighborhood!

I have started going here for almost everything except actual building materials. It's so much nicer of an experience for small trips. Prices are competitive and there are even coupons in the app that make it cheaper than big box stores.

Very helpful people. I went to big box for a bird house that showed was in stock on the website. Not there. Ace texted me a picture of the one they had so I knew my trip would not be in vain. And the Ace bird house was cheaper than the big box.

Nice new store. They've got as much packed in there as they can fit, the aisles are skinny. Great place to get hard to find items that aren't in the big box stores. Convenient location, friendly employees.

Just went in for the first time and purchased a tool and indoor items - staff very cordial ; store is new and huge and has virtually all name brands from tools, fasteners, paint, and misc. indoor/outdoor items -- beats the heck out of traveling to large box stores that offer minimal assistance; good neighborhood addition.

This is the best hardware store in Alabama. They have a down home feel like when you went to Tru Value with your grandaddy when you were a kid. The exact kind of friendly, old time service that does not exist anywhere. And that is very consistent. I go once a day and it is amazing. Cole, Chris, Keith, Tonya, Pressley, Isaac, Brent. The list goes on of amazing employees there. Thank you so much for bringing us the flagship store right in our neighborhood. They are doing a wonderful job serving the community!

Probably not going to shop here again. Inventory is considerable, but the price point is not competitive. Also, the few times I've been here, the employees have literally stalked me around the store; frequently materializing to ask me for the 12th time "is there anything else you're looking for today?". Makes for a very uncomfortable shopping experience.

New, family owned Ace. Super service and selection. I was in a fix needing a part for my Big Green Egg. No one in town had it in stock so Cole Compton took the needed part off a grill he had in inventory and saved my (Boston) butt.
