The dollar General located on Bessemer super highway in the Lipscomb area needs changes. I usually don't use this location but wanted to try it. I have to start off with in today's time cleanliness is top priority. Making sure customers are safe. I found this location to be anything but. I went for some juice and realized 😳 I had touched something really sticky and dirty. This was true for the rest of my visit. Thing's in the floor blocking isles. There supplies were limited and in such disorder I wasn't able to find anything. I've always used dollar General to purchase make-up and this was literally impossible. Between the lack of cleanliness and disorder 🤔 I wasn't able to purchase anything. I really felt hand sanitizer was a must as I left. Keeping customers safe and supplied is lacking cleanliness should be TOP PRIORITY! THE DANGERS THAT COME WITH THING'S IN THE FLOOR IS REAL. THESE THINGS ARE IMPORTANT.CLEANLINESSSUPPLIESDANGER FREE ISLES ARE IMPORTANT. THIS STORE NEEDS WORK. IF I HAD 5 ITEMS TO PURCHASE I WAS ONLY ABLE TO BUY 2 ITEMS DUE TO NOT UNPACKED STILL IN BOXES IN THE FLOOR. OTHER ITEMS I NEEDED I WASN'T ABLE TO PURCHASE DUE TO DISARRAY. IF I WAS ASKED TO RATE THIS LOCATION I'D GIVE IT A 2 BECAUSE THIS TIME THEY WERE ACTUALLY OPEN.

Love this place.Its so huge and they carry lots of things we were paying alot more for at our local grocery store.Its 3 minutes past publix or 3 minutes before.Everyone has been so nice and for them to open up so quickly they had everything looking so nice.Extra special is they are open until ,10:00p.m.which is great!! Yaw got to come check this place out..

Cashiers are nice. However. I purchased a gallon of milk today dated to expire on the 14 that was spoiled already. I believe this is because they aren't able to stock the store properly. So many items that need to be stocked fill the aisles. You have to move them to get to the things you want. You all should really think about paying people more so that they will stay. It is apparent that they are under staffed and overworked.

Terrible and extremely rude went in to return an item I didn’t have a receipt for, which I’ve done numerous times at other stores multiple times. I then told them I was going to call corporate and he said go ahead. It was a black gentleman with dreads and a larger heavyset older black man about 6’1, they refused to give me their names and weren’t wearing badges. I went to call corporate, and the larger man told me I had to leave the store to do so and bring my belongings. I obliged and told them I’d be right back. I go to my car to call corporate and as expected they confirm my statement about the return policy. I then bring the phone in to talk to the employees and the corporate even tells the man the policy. He then gods back to his office and says he’s calling his DM- he comes back out and says we have to leave THREE TIMES. all this while we’re still on the phone with corporate, telling me I have to leave bc I requested to return an item? I didnt even make a scene or anything and he was being extremely rude.I go to my car still on the phone and after five min he comes outside and gives me a “shoo” motion with his hands like he was about to do somethingIncredibly rude employees I cannot believe the audacity and that DG would like their store to be represented like that and continue to allow such treatment to customers. Not only that but the store smelled completely putrid and the presence of customer service was minimal I wasn’t even given a hello upon walking in. They need new employees or training ASAP

I like it cause its close but the mess is hard to get around the aisles. They need more help and for employees to help each other on stacking and registers. Also cleaning the resisters on a frequent basis. Also head that when one store close in the area has sales this one doesnt. Reason for that? Seems unfair to customers

I got there at 8:50pm and a very big, tall male manager was standing outside telling customers that they were getting ready to close. He saw that I had a DG shopping bag and as I approached the door he said, "Hey sweetie. We're getting ready to close and we're not doing any more returns tonight." I told him that the Dollar General website lists this location as being open until 10pm and he said "No they don't" in a very condescending manner. Ummm, YES they do, sir.. and this "sweetie" brought the receipts (proof). I will NEVER visit this DG location again. EVER.

I wont even go here anymore. My last visit was 4 weeks ago. This is because the lines are ALWAYS ATROCIOUS. Dollar general thrives off of the idea of being a convenient place to shop but you cannot expect to shop here and be out the door for at least 15 minutes. That's if you grab a drink and get straight in line. This is obviously due to poor management and communication. I worked at DG for almost 3 years both as an associate and a manager. I am very well aware of the guidelines for calling for back up. While it can be noted that most DG employees dont like to call for back up, I always promoted the idea. Word is that the new district mgr is not very well liked and tbh its started to trickle down and show among the store staff. To shop here I'd have to be desperate.

The staff were friendly and helpful . I needed a basket and one of the employees went out and found me one. There a variety of items to purchase and the pricing is great

Poor Dollar General 1 cashier 1 what's going on I don't go to this DG anymore for that reason. You try to stay in the hood and well.... 1 cashier and the line oh my the line then he need pennies and dimes and uuuuuuugh all I can say is po DG WOW.

As I've stated before, I don't mind the location(s). However, as a person who had experience in retail, customers are entitled to whatever the price says on the shelf. No ifs, ands, or buts about this scenario should be argued or disagreed upon. ALL Dollar General locations should follow suit.

There's only one person at the register and sometimes the line gets long and takes alot of your time when your in a hurry, other than than that the store is clean and staff are friendly.
