They have the most unfriendly cashiers that I have ever seen. I don’t understand why is it so hard to be courteous. The guys are always friendly and speak but majority of the females are horrible and need to work somewhere else that doesn’t require dealing with the public

We passed this location on the way to Walmart from Ardmore and decided to turn around then check it out. We experienced less stress, many options, the dollar isle, and we left with just under $200 of groceries. We have food for this week and next weekend. We live in Hillsboro and will be back to this location in the future.

After walking away from a paid for fish meal at Captain D's next door to Hometown because they refused to acknowledge in a very rude manner that they served the food cold, I being hungry went next door to Hometown to see if they had a deli. The lunch meal was great, priced similar to cold fish meal next door, and the staff was very friendly. So the money lost at Captain D's was actually not such a waste as it help me try out Hometown. I will be back

Nice employees and good prices but there is one thing wrong with they're store they need to unclutter there isle's and clean up the store especially the restroom and stock there shelves they was out of a lot of items. We love shopping at this store! They have really great prices and selections. We spend way less money now on groceries now that we shop here over Wal-Mart. The store is always clean and the shelves are always stocked. We will never switch back to the other place.

Do not shop here cashier put my peanut butter and jelly in with my bread and smashed it beyond recognition so I called lady at front desk said come back get some more bread o told her I live in westlimestone and couldent come back for bread and lady at front desk said we’ll what do you want me to do about it ??? Very rude very unprofessional shop at your own risk

Well this was my first time here and it was okay until I got to a cashier working. There was no one in her line so I went to it and started putting my things on the belt, she didn't say hi to me so I did and she didn't say it back, so I spoke up and said How are you and she said good. I just felt like she didn't want to work there or like her job. She wasnt too welcoming. The owner should really watch who they hire.

I only go here to stock my freezer with Meats. Everything else overpriced and/or dated. Megan the cashier was very rude. But the lady named Terry saved face and she's very friendly, please keep Terry and hire more people like her!

Always have loved shopping at Hometown since I was a kid. The employees are extremely helpful and polite. I love how they cash payroll and social security checks for a smaller fee than any bank. Their prices are lowest around and the 5 for $25 meat deal is great. Highly recommend shopping at Hometown.

This is a very well run store and I have frequently shopped here for years now. The employees are always really kind and helpful whenever I need assistance. That bakery manager especially, he's a wonderful guy and knows the answer to pretty much any question I ever have. Keep up the good work Hometown!

Most unfriendly place. I was suprised. Meat dept guy was very unfriendly. I pointed out a pricing error in produce showing peacons for 5.59 for 8lbs. Shoukd have been 8oz. Thought I was being nice. The lady never acknowledged me but kept talking to her friend. It's sad when a local business treat their customers wrong

Great store! Long lines open other registers right away. If it wasn't for the Lady at the sevice desk, who helped me put my groceries in the "4 egg boxes " they gave me, I would be without my cane also. I left it, now she is holding it for me! All good, country folk !!

Hometown is the BEST grocery store in Athens!! They always have great deals, has everything I need and I don't have to go to Walmart! Also, every employee in that store is always so nice and helpful! I also use the Pharmacy, AWESOME people there too! Thank you Hometown for making life a little easier!

Nice local chain, better selection than the smaller Jefferson store. My only complaint is some produce isn't as fresh as I'd like, and there is a ton of junk food crowded directly up front. I'm not a health food nut, I just prefer less processed foods.

The Store across town is better than this one. I'm really surprised at how lazy,rude and sloppy they act here. They dont want to help. Especially if you need help at the service desk. Then all they do is complain. They should be very Happy they have a job but instead they are miserable. They get equally frustrated if you use the coinstar. That confuses me to why that bothers then so much. I guess different strokes for different folks.

Some middle aged alcoholic in the deli that reeked of whiskey yelled at me because I asked how much the meat and two veg combo was. Probably because I broke up the shouting match she was having with the manager. Never shopping at this hole again.

One of my favorite grocery stores these days. They have real butchers!, and if you ask they will cut any meat product anyway you ask. Not many stores do this anymore. Most other stores only have meat stockers. Everything comes in pre-cut frozen bulk packages. Not at Hometown Grocery, everyone should be on a first name basis with their butcher.

Prices on the shelves are way higher than other stores. A bottle of Gatorade that sells for .80 at Walmart everyday is $1.49 at Hometown. Other items that sell for $1 most places are 2 for $3 here. That's a 50% increase, for nothing. Do people not understand that on the non sale items they are being completely ripped off? Hometown had better hope their customers never set foot in Walmart or Aldi and compare prices.The meat department is tiny and meat prices are high. Cheap chicken thighs are priced higher than boneless skinless breasts a mile up the road. Best of all, check out is totally stalled out. They currently have one slow lady running a resister with six people lined up waiting to check out. Meanwhile store employees file past the registers looking grim, and no one is the slightest bit concerned about the wait. I guess opening register #2 would be way too much trouble. The good reviews this place receives are a complete mystery to me.

We have been here 3 times to buy corn that according to there add in the News paper was on sale. It is never out on the floor we usually wind up asking someone about it and wait 30 min maybe longer. Looks like neitherthe manager or produce person know's how to run a business

We always get our meats from here they are a small town style grocery store that has actual butchers in their meat department during the day. A bell to ring if you have questions or need something specific that they dont already have out there

Again this is one of the best markets we have in this town today. You guys took a failed Southern Family Market, Piggly Wiggly, and all it took was some cleaning up and making it that kind of store again. Great job guys!
