The cashier was very nice and helpful. She tried to find an item for me that they unfortunately didn't have anymore but she made sure to look. Was a pleasant shopping experience compared to others there before or other stores.

Don’t bother getting propane here. The words of the cashier - “I don’t know why we bother selling propane here”, as she had no idea how to sell it to me.All 12 of her brain cells combined couldn’t figure out how to scan the barcode for a propane tank exchange. After waiting for her to come outside to exchange my tanks, she had the wrong key. Apparently somebody lost the key to it. The new key didn’t work. Nobody bothered to check when they got the new lock.Had to go back inside and refund the propane purchase. She didn’t know how to refund either. 25 minutes in DG for two propane tanks, and I left with nothing.DG, train your employees, and hire competent people. Will never bother with this DG again.

Shelves are pretty well organized and stocked even during the Covid years. Many on-sale and digital coupon items sell very quickly, so plan accordingly.Dropping this review a couple stars because of new management and cashier... a 120 dollar order and she mutters under her breath, "We'll see if it goes through..."Like, that's the rudest thing you could ever say. And for no reason!

Always clean and the employees are extremely helpful and polite. Since covid hit the shelves and coloers are almost bare minimum of products to buy and most of the time I have to go to multiple Dollar store just to get everything I need. Other than that I love the Dollar Store.

This place was a mess when I went there was multiple people that work for the company stocking shelves and one guy was in the way and I said excuse me he finished stocking the shelf before moving. I was a little upset when I got to the front I had to ask the cashier if the guy was deaf, she replied yes he is . I was like oh ok good to let customers know ... other then that their prices are reasonable for convenience if you don't want to go to Walmart

Way, way too cluttered. The parking lot is crazy. There is one way in and out. The strangest place for a store like this. It does have a lot of what you need. It depends on what time of the day you go or what month I suppose, if you expect friendly service. The older people are nice. The younger people act like they would rather be anywhere but there. Which I'm sure is the truth but come on kids! There are so many who would love to have your job.

Male cashier was nice but female employee told him that he couldn't sell me 2 shirts and a pair of pants because the tag was missing. All 3 had the label inside with the UPC on it. She said they can't do it like that. I knew better because it's been done many times before.

Seriously, is it part of Dollar General policy to keep the store so understaffed that inventory can not be unpacked? And to have the stores so overcrowed in such a small space?I say this because I have noticed this in stores in TN, MS and now in AL. It's great to have a store in a rural area to pick up a few staples without having to drive to "town" to go to shop. But have found this to be consistent in stores even in the main shopping areas.

It saddens me to say Dollar Generals prices are soaring. My items I usually purchase are more expensive now than Wal-Mart! I know this because I saved more money there. I usually will not step foot in Wal-Mart but I refuse to pay more at Dollar General.

I went to the dollar general store on 1233E. Pryor street Athens, Alabama 25622 and I paid for my items and the cashier employee name Virginia was really hateful to me and another customer behind me. Cashier didn't sell items to the lady that was behind me. Cashier got very rude hateful and after the customer that walked out I walked back in and the cashier was stomping her feet, slinging things around and cussing the customer and and refused to sell all of the items that the customer had to the customer the store was nasty and cluttered up and not clean items was in the floor down every isle and the restroom was nasty and disgusting and very unsanitary Clean your store up and be nice to customers. It's ok, it's clean, and I haven't ran into any unfriendly workers there the parking lot is whats crazy there's only one way in and it's all jacked up but over all it's nothing like the one at the intersection of Hwy 72/31 by far my favorite dollar store, friendly staff members and they have Praise music playing

Tried to give them one more chance as I approached the door I witnessed about 8 people without a mask. this was the last time. you don't need help you need to close the doors and find something else to put your money into at a time like this it is imperative that you follow the law. if you do not want to then leave the United 🇺🇸 USA things will get worse the laws we have been here for a reason.this is the only store with this problem. this review is not for all dollar General.just this one!!!!!!!!!!!

I would recommend this Dollar General to anyone. The employees are very friendly and very helpful. I have never experienced any issues or anything since I have been shopping at this Dollar General.

I love the $ General on 251. Always friendly and they get to know there customers and treat everyone like family. The manager will jump right in and help check you out when they are busy.

This Dollar General on Hwy. 31 in Athens is always very well stocked , its always spotless and ive never met a rude clerk here ! Its a great little store , so convenient!

The red head snotty girl up there needs to mond her manners. Win I donatwd money to. The miracle network she made a snide noise behind the girl ringing me up im not sure why.. Maybe she tgought what i donated was not enough. But she is very rude and nreds ounchrd in the throat

Fast & friendly! I was on the greyhound and only had 15 minutes to get in and out. I managed to get a full plastic bag of items & get out in time to smoke a cigarette.

I give it 4 outta 5 because the parking lot is Kinda messed up but overall, it's a DG and the people there are pretty friendly and they have just about everything you need and plus it's a good location as well.

Cleaner store than before.Customer services still needs work,and shelves need be stocked. Lots of empty shelves not only for cleaning supplies,toilet tissue, food and freezer sections empty!🤔

This DG isnt my local store. People greeted me going in. Grabbed something small & out. Aisles were very unkept. Maybe they are just understaffed.

This particular location was very neat and clean, well organized with no clutter in the isles. You could actually use a shopping cart and bump into eveeything
