Stayed at this beautiful lakeside campground, and it was a breeze to navigate with spacious pull-through sites that were level and easy to settle into. Perfect views of the lake when you’re on a walk, and the clubhouse overlooking the lake adds to the charm. The front desk staff was super friendly, allowing hassle-free package deliveries, a real plus for our Christmas stay (just, you know, don’t abuse the privilege). The only hiccup was the occasional off-leash dogs that seemed to wander in from the woods. La Bonita Plaza Mexican restaurant in Arley had decent food but lackluster service. The busy coffee shop diner and a local gas/grocery store with good prices were also convenient in Arley. Keep in mind, anything else is a bit of a drive, around 30+ minutes to Jasper. Despite that, we'd definitely return and recommend this gem of a park to others.

This thousand trails park was one of the best well-kept parks we have been to! The spots were very spacious and had plenty of trees (we were across from the park). The manager was extremely friendly, and he was always there to answer our questions. The laundry was the best price out there. The views in the park were absolutely beautiful! We enjoyed our Nighy fires and watching the sun set from the observation deck. We stayed for 3 weeks and truly enjoyed our time there. We went fishing and swimming in the lake. AT&T service was excellent. We had 5g the entire time. The only downside is that everything outside the park is a little drive, but that's pretty typical with thousand trails.

Clean, nice, quiet, beautiful lake with an area to watch the sunset and enjoy a picnic. Definitely recommend!

Just a quick 1 night RV stay. Might rate 5 but seemed to be a high percent of full time folks w a lot of stuff. Big camp, not many on our side with lake views. Beautiful views of lake from clubhouse. Clubhouse was very nice, big, multiple rooms, nice rest rooms, pool tables in gaming area were nice. 2 pianos and nice tv in main area overlooking lake. Young lady was very courteous and nice when we arrived late and she was on her way home. She went back in and got us set up. Just a ways off I22 for 1 night. I will probably go back when we have more time to check out the entire area.

We enjoyed being here and the park/resort is located on Smith Lake so it was easy to get our kayaks in the water and cooling off in the lake in the afternoon was great. I know one reviewer wasn't happy with the condition of the road leading to Hidden Cove. The section that is not in great condition is very short, maybe 1/10th of a mile? Probably half that length. This wasn't a big deal to us, and someone (probably Hidden Cove) hired private contractors to repair the holes while we were there. We'd return in a heartbeat.

This is a very odd Thousand Trails. It's not bad just different from what we are use to. Most sites are really roomy and full hookup. Some sites are great others are cramed in next to and between annual sites that are cluttered and unsightly. The park is quite aways from the interstate for those looking for a quick overnight this is probably not what you are looking for. For those wanting to stay a few days this may be exactly what you are looking for?The park staff is amazing and super friendly. The pool is absolutely beautiful and very clean! We stayed during the week so it was realitively quiet except for an occasional kids driving too fast on gas golf carts. With all the seasonal and annuals I would thinks it's probably packed on the weekends. All said we definitely enjoyed our 3 night stay here.

Not sure how it qualifies as a thousand trails resort... marginal at best... lots of full timers that take the premium spots. The road into the resort is horrendous. They should scrape away the little bit of asphalt that's left and just make it a dirt road.Update, I just took away one of the three stars because I got an automated response on Google about my review. This is not my norm. Frankly, I still think giving 2 stars is being generous. This place needs professional guidance in order to be part of the Thousand Trail Resorts experience. Otherwise Thousand Trails means nothing.

Hidden cove is a gorgeous resort with a lake and boating, a huge clubhouse by the water and clean, newly remodeled showers and laundry. It is in the thousand trails collection and one of the nicest places we've stayed. The RV spots are a bit closer on the pull thru side, but there is ample room for smaller RVs. Been there twice, no issues with electric or water, pressure is good. It is a bit of a hike through the hills to get there, but worth it for a getawaySafety: Felt very safe hereRestrooms: Clean, newer restrooms

Installations are in "new" shape. Everything looks like well maintenanced. Place is super quiet. people that were staying at the same time as us were respectful. I love that. Staff were super nice too.The downside, (even that this is an entire thousand trails rv park...) the good spots are taken. But not like someone came before you. taken by rv that are parked there like forever, and Im not saying like full timers but rv parked, closed and empty. Lets says that they have like 30 sites with great view, well 20 were taken by rv that were unoccupied. 3 spot where "reserved" with crossed pilars, or tables. Like the person left but wanted to keep the space. Its a little stupid to have a great view spot and all of them not really used.During the night a dog with tag showed up walking free at the place. We tried to read the tag and we called management, they told us that is normal, is a neighbor dog and that neighbor does not care about him. So, we couldnt walk our own dogs without the fear of this dog attacking them. We received a call offering the lifetime membership for thousand trails... but the reality is that you always going to have a bad and far spot, since looks like even for their own managed rv parks, the good spot are reserven even if nobody is there.Wifi works well (is paid for sites, free in common areas). and ATT coverage is great, 5G good signal and speed.

Extremely disappointed..if this is a "Nice" Thousand Trails campground..very sad. Will not renew my membership. Some roads inside campground are not okay for RVs. Turns too sharp. Having to pay for WiFi ($14.95/wk) is ridiculous for a Thousand Trail campground. Plus had to use hot spot entire time. Extremely poor service. Majority of my 1 wk visit no ability to make phone calls as no service.Ladies at gate were awesome!!Dog-friendliness: Pets must be on leash. Just normal pick up after your dog rules.

We spent 3 weeks here in late Nov-December. The approach road (Bethel Rd.) really needs repairs, but once inside the campground things are better. Great full hook up pull through site in the new section (C-67). The hook ups themselves are great, nice and new, well located, and the gravel site was fairly level. Sunsets across the field in front are amazing! Not much to do in this area this time of year, but we're heading to Texas for winter, so no problems. Easy in, easy out.

Very nice staff made check in super easy, being that it is a first come first serve park I extremely appreciate that she was able to direct us to a very nice open site, though looking around most of the sites here are much more spacious than a lot of RV parks. I do wish cell service and internet were better, but with my cell booster I am able to get decent speeds with both Verizon and AT&T. Be sure to plan your meals, there isn't much by way of shopping closer than Jasper.

It's quite aptly named, being very hidden from the main roads, but I supposed that lends to the peacefulness. That said the last stretch of road leading to the gated entry is very narrow and rough. Very nice and quiet place to stay. Playground is a bit older but the kids still had fun. Pool is very relaxing.Playground: It's older equipment, (patchwork repairs and missing parts/pieces) however nothing that seemed unsafe at the time we were there. Also seems geared towards older kids, but My 3 and 4 year old were still able to have fun.Restrooms: They have some in the shower rooms off the pool, as well as in the public showers which are located attached to the coin operated laundry facilities(2 washers, 2 dryers).Dog-friendliness: I have seen multiple campers with dogs of all various sizes here, but do not have any myself.Picnic area: Every RV spot seems to have a picnic table provided as well as a few others sprinkled throughout.

The resort was in reasonably good condition. We didn't have any particular problem. The only issue we had was that after being told they would be keeping the pool open a couple weeks they closed it less than a week later (late in the season, so can't really get mad... just disappointed). We do plan on returning using our TT pass though. The restrooms on C Loop were newer and clean. We had no issues withnour sometimes vocal canines. The park was in a good location, and it was nice going down to the lake. The wife and kids even went up to the clubhouse a couple time for pool and puzzles. All told, it was a good getaway.

Staying at the RV Park. In C loop. bathrooms are very nice and laundry, and they have a swimming pool. On the largest and cleanest lake in AL. The staff is very nice. If you have a boat, this is the place to come, they have their own boat launch and docks.Safety: Gated entry.Walkability: big park gravel roads.Restrooms: on C loop bathrooms are a 9 out of 10. New and clean.

Every table game in the rec center had broken and missing pieces. The bathroom ran out of hand soap, but there wasn’t anyone in the front office to tell, even during office hours. The playground has caution tape around it and was missing 2/3 of the equipment. When my kids and I went to take our showers, the hot water ran out in less than 5 minutes. Considering it was at or below freezing both nights we were there, this was painful. Both pianos in the rec center also needed tuning, and one was missing a foot peg. The sites were large and level, plus the boat dock was nice, but those were the only things I could recommend about the campground.

Hidden Cove is a nice rv campground. We would definitely consider a 2 or 3 week stay next trip. We went this trip to see the park, it is definitely too far out in the middle of nowhere for an overnight stay, but perfect for a longer stay. The roads are very narrow getting to the campground use caution. The staff and other campers were all very pleasant

Nice park, but is a drive to get anywhere. We arrived after dark and were told we can pick any spot. The problem is there is ZERO lights outside. You cannot see anything at all. Had to use flashlights to see and set up. We found a pull through spot vacant. It was on a hill and we set up and our RV almost rolled down. Thank goodness for the chalks. Not really blaming them on that BUT if there was some form of lights we could have seen that we picked the worst spot in the park. Other than that though it was not bad. Nice clean pool. We purchased the WiFi for two weeks. That was a life saver, since I work remotely and my hot spot was getting no signal at all. If you want a getaway from everything this would be the spot for you.

Beautiful place we were in the C Loop roomy spaces, cell phone and Internet service was not very good. We purchase Internet service, which was in an out Had to call several times, but the staff was very friendly and did their best to get it going again but it kept happening but beautiful campground they need a dog park. There is no off leash area for your pups to run around we will be back

I would like to say that this is an excellent campground. Lots are large and easy to maneuver into even with large rigs. We were able to get a space on water front. The staff and other campers are very pleasant to deal with and have a welcoming atmosphere. There is absolutely no nearby stores or even one on the campground. So, ensure that you bring food and supplies that you will need for your stay. The facilities are clean and the grounds are well kept.

This was absolutely a beautiful campground! We stopped by as our final stop on the way home from a cross country trip. The pool is amazing and the bathrooms were redone and absolutely beautiful!!!! (but still couldn't figure out why there wasn't an AC unit since it was end of summer and still hot and I didn't see one in sight.) We were on the newest loop that had just been built (Loop C maybe?) The laundry room at the end of the bathrooms was also not ventilated well, no AC unit. The clubhouse is awesome with pool tables, a beautiful view of the lake, and several games and TV. The playground was enjoyed by the kids and it wasn't too far from the campgrounds for them to be able to wander off and play. And wifi is available at your campsite for a fee per night. Other than the AC/ventilation, it was a wonderful stay and would def recommend this hidden little gym!!! If we ever come back through here we will def stop by.

No mention of swimming pool closed until we arrived and saw it closed. New section C is nice, but please plant trees in the fall to work towards getting shade. Also a few overhead lights would be nice. Internet was great even if it cost us. Nice community center but I would have thought there would have been an event or two during holiday weekend. It should get used more. Phone service sucks. Would be nice to have swimming access to the lake. Small beach area somehow.

Awesome RV park. Kind of in the middle of nowhere, but still good.Pretty level sites, nice gravel, wide and quite a few pull through. The back in sites are at a nice angle, so they are easy to get into as well.Take the road to the right at the entrance if your going to cross the bridge with your RV, it's much less stressful that way.

It's name says it all. It's definitely hidden, which can be a plus but has more cons. It is very quiet because there's nothing around. Cons are the road leading in is very rough, no lights in the park, cell service is very spotty, it's over 30 minutes to any restaurants or Walmart. Our cell service was so bad that our internet hot spot wouldn't work. Not many washers or dryers for full-timers to use. There are only 4 washing machines and 4 dryers in the entire park, and 1 of the dryers was broken when we were there. It took almost all day to just to do 2 loads of laundry because you have to wait for an empty machine. Playground was ok according to my kids.

The staff are so nice here. The grounds are beautiful. They are priced right. They accommodated us with our special needs adult child no questions asked. Wonderful people! The housekeeper was awesome! Great to chat with too. Pool was clean and welcoming. Opened and closed on time. The bath house was up to date but could use a good bleaching and some new grout. We will definitely return there and recommend it to others.
