Edit to add that the business did reach out to me and has corrected the issue. Thank you for responding and the fast resolution!My mom bought some items from this store and had them ship it to me back in February (she lives in Huntsville, I live in Seattle). When it arrived, the items she bought me were completely shattered. When I called the store it give them some feedback on the packaging, the lady didn't really care at all, not even an apology, but said she would leave a note for the owner and took my name and number. Either the note was never left or the owner didn't care enough to call.Anyways, when you're shipping glass across the country, you might wanna do more than just wrap it up in some brown paper. I mean, seriously? Not even a little bit of bubble wrap? They sell it at Dollar Tree. Invest in some if you're going to be offering shipping services.

DSM is a unique store where you can get things that are unavailable in most stores in the area. They have a great selection of small batch sauces, spices, soaps, and lotions, along with some hard to find snacks. Their selection of handmade leather goods is fantastic. Books? They have them. It's really not possible to adequately describe all of the possibilities, just pay them a visit. With great merchandise and exceptional customer service, you won't be disappointed.

I got a chance last week to visit DSM. I was blown away by the high-quality merchandise. I literally walked around for about an hour, because there are goodies tucked in every nook and cranny. I couldn't make my mind up what to get. It's a great place to get home-made, hometown gifts for friends and family. I was able to bring a little piece of the South (well - a lot of little pieces in my case) back up North to share. I love my Chocolate Tote the best and my entire office now has that wonderful smell of leather <3.

Incredible store with great leadership! I was warmly greeted the moment I walked in and I spent a good amount of time looking at all of their items. You can tell they have taken the time to really decorate their store with unique items. Loved it and highly recommend it to anyone!

Deep South Mercantile is such a neat place. It’s all about the experience. They always have something to sample, from hand creams to gourmet popcorn. Almost everything in their shop is southeastern made. You are getting a great variety of quality things outside the of big box store. Their collection of products is vast and there is something for children, men and women. From home decor to shaving essentials for men and some excellent goodies for the kiddos, they are truly a blessing to our town.

Amazing place... definitely worth the trip to Arab AL. They have southern oriented items that I've never seen in any other store. One of our favorites is the "Texas Ketchup". They have ceramic egg trays, and safety razors and shaving accessories like the one my grandfather used. Every time I've gone in, there's always new items. They are friendly too.. don't be surprised if you get a hug.

Visiting Chris and Christy Holmes at the Deep South Mercantile was amazing! Their love for the south and for people was evident! The store was filled with amazing treasures! I am thrilled with the bracelets I purchased there. One is handmade copper and the other is handmade engraved leather. I can’t wait to go back and visit again! I'm so glad to have a place like this in Arab. We have a few stores that sell some pretty unique items, but Deep South specializes in products from southern artisans. But even more special than the products are the people. To say that they will make you feel welcome is an understatement! They will make you feel like family

We first went into DSM out of curiosity to see what the hype was. That was shortly after the initial opening. Years later, we are still very avid supporters of this business AND their brother site, Southern General. The staff is perpetually chipper, and seems to have extensive knowledge of the products that they provide. MANY of their selections are distributed locally by other Alabama artisans and ALL of the merchandise is unique to our area. If you're looking for gifts (or just shopping for yourself!), this is absolutely the store for you. You are sure to find quality items that aren't so easily located in our neck of the woods.

When you walk into the mercantile it's like being welcomed home by old friends. They merchandise is beautifully displayed. There are items of every price range and even some tasty samples. The owners are friendly and helpful.

Had the opportunity to visit Deep South while in Alabama. What a fantastically curated store on main street USA. Whether you are looking for that perfect gift for someone or a unique item for yourself, Deep South Mercantile can fulfill. From leather to lotions, tshirts to beard balm and everything in between. The staff and owners will make you feel at home from the moment you walk in until you make your way out of the store bags in tow. Will definitely visit again when in Alabama and online in the meantime.
