Pricey and so not worth it.Where do I even begin. We came here for an ultrasound initially. The first visit was OK, Dr. Nelson went over the imaging, explained a little, told us to come back in a month. They also found a mass they recommended we get checked out.On our follow up they do another ultrasound, Dr. Nelson comes in sipping his coffee, says 3 words to us, is looking at me like he’s expecting me to explain what we are all doing here, advises we get the mass removed and then walks out. His tech comes back, says they couldn’t get the mass to stop bleeding so they stapled it shut and gave me an estimate for 2k to have it removed. They don’t tell me what the mass is but that it could be cancerous.I come back in a week to get the staples removed, at which point they tell me there’s pus and it’s probably just a cyst and to have it looked at again by the vet.Fast forward 3 weeks and the cyst has burst, has formed an abscess and has a horrible infection. We took him to our fabulous vet Dr. Young in Piedmont and he cleaned it and gave us medication for $170. They also only quoted us $350 for the mass removal. Thanks to Dr. Nelson and his staff a perfectly benign cyst turned into a raging infection that formed so much pressure a second hole ruptured for drainage. I don’t know what they did in the process of either the needle aspiration or the staples but it created a much worse problem and infection set in. I also don’t know how they get away charging 2-3k for something our vet charges $350. Dr. Young and his staff explain everything so wonderfully and our dog always leaves healthier when he leaves their office. The picture shows the cyst and you can also see where the second hole formed. This after Dr. Young cleaned and took care of it.

Staff is very nice. Building is excellent and Vet is friendly. Guess everywhere could use some improvement though.A few things didn’t set right with us so we looked for another vet. Why would you want the dog to get another rabies shot when the one they have has another 2 years left on it ? Prices are very expensive too. Over $200 for a nail trim and a couple of shots for boarding the dog needed. Right at $100 for the Vet to come in. Not sure why we needed a vet for a nail trim ( actually tips only because he was afraid of the dog ) and the tech gave the 2 immunizations. We didn’t ask for a consultation or talk about the dog being sick. Just needed nail trim and the 2 immunizations. That was it !

We just picked a new family member from Calhoun County Animal Control who had a few health issues. VCA got Rocket(Rambo) in early when some of his issues had gotten worse. Everyone was very nice and caring. Rocket is doing much better thanks to the staff.

Fabulous vet and staff!! My mastiff was in labor and started having problems. We called the ER our vet uses and was quoted over $5000 for a c section and not her options. We called VCA Anniston and they told us to come right away. After an exam and an X-ray, the vet wanted to try natural birth before a c section. It went beautifully! We were quoted $1700 for the same procedure as the other ER. I will always use VCA for any emergencies for my fur babies from now on. I highly recommend them.

In and out fairly quick. Dr. Baxter was very detailed and thorough when scanning my dog and explaining the options and the steps of each option. Maybe a little pricy, but if you're in a pinch and don't want to travel far, this is a good place with great doctors and great service.

Very friendly staff. I had an emergency with my dog (Mahzi) on a Saturday and they got us in super quick and solved the issue without any extra issues. Will definitely visit again in the future.

I can’t even describe with words right now how I feel about this vet and their staff. Dr Hoff is very unprofessional along with another staff member that I didn’t get her name. My dog was attacked my two pit bulls and needed medical treatment. Her wounds needed cleaning and a few needed staples. She brought my dog back to me and refused to give her any treatment at all because she bit her and two other staff members. She was brought in with a muzzle and for some reason it was taken off of her during the process. However they did charge me 500$ up front to just bring her in after hours with no treatment. She talked to us very abruptly and told me she couldn’t even deal with us at the moment. I’m just floored at how we were treated. Me being a medical professional myself I’ve been bitten slapped and hit and I’ve never talked to my pts that way. Just very poor poor professionalism! Sickening really! I will also be posting this on social media and telling everyone I know not to use your clinic

Dr. Cooner has been seeing my rabbits for almost 10 years! Part of them having such a long life is definitely having an amazing, experienced veterinarian to care for them and help us keep them healthy. We love Dr. Cooner!

Dr Nelson is a great surgeon and the staff is great. My pomeranian had bilateral knee reconstruction from birth/genetic defect and this baby is way ahead of the weekly instructions. We have to slow her as to not over do it. The procedure he did will give my 7 month old pom a new chance in life of normalcy. I see many bad reviews on cost, and mine wasn't free, but I'd pay whatever to keep this baby comfy and happy for many more years. Thank you!!

First visit and I'm satisfied the staff and Dr Sutton took good care of my girl during her dental cleaning. It has put my concerns at rest and I'm confident we will be back again and again.

Do not take you dog here for emergency!!! The 500$ for the “emergency deposit “ is just to look at the dog basically! I was told it would be “several thousand dollars and would need half up front to start”( I was never given an actual number and it was a federal holiday so banks are closed)2 minutes after paying $500.00 “deposit “I ended up bringing my dog home In a bag instead of them helping our family member! I have proof of income etc. ZERO COMPASSION FOR DOG! Did try to tend to me just not my girl. Absolutely devastating! Please go somewhere else!

If I could give them more stars I would. We took our dog Precious here thinking that she just had an indigestion or something of that matter. They ran some test on her and found out that her liver had totally failed and had a massive mass that was pushing on her lungs. We had to make that horrible decision to put her down. The staff was so caring and comforting. I want to thank everyone there for your help through this horrible time. Precious was with us for 12 years. It wasn't easy to make this decision but the vet and staff helped us through the whole process. I want to thank u for making a paw print for us and also for sending that beautiful card with your whole staff signature. It meant so much to us. Thank you so much and if we ever have another Dog you will be the place we take her to get care. Thanks!!

My sweet pug Louie, woke me up several Sundays ago with some scary gastrointestinal issues. I called VCA and as usual, the kind front desk staff gave me a time to bring him in. We got there, we were greeted and put in a room. The veterinary assistant ( I’m so sorry I didn’t get your name) came in and took a history etc. Immediately after we arrived, a few emergencies came in( snake bites etc) During the whole time, staff checked on us and let us know what what going on. I was offered water etc. Keri Hobgood came in with her usual wonderful self to check on us and meet Louie. The staff also took Louie back and did preliminary tests. Dr. Hoff came in and apologized for the wait. She got in the floor with Louie and examined him. She gave me her diagnosis, answered my questions and told me what to watch for etc. Dr. Hoff took her time with Louie and I which I appreciated… of course Louie fell in love with her. I know from past experience with Dr Hoff and my other fur babies that she’s an excellent diagnostician. Louie went back to the treatment area for some fluids and he was good to go with meds for his tummy. Dr. Hoff, the veterinary assistant and Keri all checked back in on us before we left. ( which Louie loved…. He tried to follow Dr H down the hall). Check out was smooth. They took my CareCredit and gave me everything I needed to file on Louie’s insurance. The special care we received that day is the reason I know my babies are in great hands at VCA of Northeast Al. No, this isn’t my regular vet, but they treat me and my babies as such. Dr Hoff and the rest of the staff I mentioned are the reason I keep coming back.

Worst establishment in Anniston. Won’t sell me food that could save my kittens life because I have a balance. How is that caring for animals?? It’s not. Yes I acknowledge my debt but come on. It’s food an I just want to buy it.

Staff is always friendly and helpful. The vets listen thoroughly and are very gentle with your animals. They give detailed instructions if your pet is sent home with meds or other needs.

Took our dog here for constant vomiting. He was over filled with saline to the point he was soaked when he returned to us. Nausea medicine was given and did not help. We were charged $209 for the exam and antibiotics. He was not given a dose before being sent home and he refused to eat so we spent money on antibiotics he wouldn't take. No tests were done due to short funds because it was Christmas day. They didn't offer payment plans because it was against "regulation". The vet was rude and unkind when asked about surrender as if she had never been low on funds. I felt judged and ignored. My poor dog came back into the room scared and uncomfortable He was still sick after arriving home. They told us if he continued to vomit after getting home it would more than likely be surgical. They said it would be another $130 for another exam the exact same day, $500 to keep him over night and none of this included treatment. We decided to contact an alternative vet who took our dog in with no hesitation and no money. He stayed awake alone watching our sweet baby until 3 a.m. He then called us to tell us he was doing so much better and treatments and tests were coming back great. He had no need for any surgery. He deserved better than the care he received here. He was viewed as a check and not as a life that mattered. I will forever be thankful to the new vet we found. He loves animals and not money.

They saved my pups life after he got ahold my moms pills, I can not thank them enough.I will always be coming here and bringing all my pets here from now on. They are kind and loving people who actually care about the patients that are brought in and not in it to over charge and earn higher profit like most other vets.

VCA is so thorough with my sweet elderly girl. I had the pleasure of meeting 2 new people that I've never met before. The assistant that helped us is starting veteranian school soon, and he is already more thorough than most veteranians I have met in most recent years, not to mention he was personable and caring about our concerns and our sweet girl. The vet came in, and she was a young female, and she blew us away with how kind and caring she was. We have been to VCA many times in the past and have never received care like this before. These 2 people were AMAZING!!!

If you don't have funds to pay in full up front, don't go here. They turned away our dying 10 week old puppy. My family is heartbroken. I get that business is business but clearly there is no compassion at all here. We weren't expecting to get him the emergency care he needs without paying. We just aren't able to pay hundreds up front. So if your furry family member is dying and it's a Sunday in between paydays and an emergency, they won't bother treating your pet.

definitely takes advantage of your situation. charged me 500$ to give me antibiotics and say they dont know what is going on. $300 of that was to draw blood and still not know what was going on(no where else charges that much to draw blood, most places are under $100) and it was obvious my dog had a growing mammory tumor yet the vet never mentioned anything about it, when i mentioned it the girl checking me out acted as if it was no big deal even though my dog was obviously in pain. the next day that huge lump that they acted as if it was no big deal BUSTED. had to go to a whole new vet and they knew what was wrong right away, had to do surgery and still didnt charge me near what this vet did to do nothing. dont waste your time or money because you will leave very disappointed with a sick dog.

This review is in regards to my experience with Dr. Nelson. I have never been spoken to so condescendingly as Dr. Nelson spoke to me. Dr. Nelson is clearly not use to clients disagreeing with or questioning his judgment. He made that clear in the way he treated me after refusing to pay him $3000+ to operate on my dog’s broken leg and refusing to follow his care suggestions exactly as stated. I will not be returning to this clinic. You can find a nicer and more reasonably priced vet elsewhere!

My dog “walkin taco” had a great experience at this clinic. My dog suffers from seizures and VCA got his seizures under control and now taco can not wait to come back. The staff was very considerate of my concern for my dog and treated him like they were one of their own animals. The doctors were all kind and the staff as a whole was very welcoming. I highly recommend VCA 💜

I needed an emergency appointment for my senior miniature schnauzer and they accommodated me into their schedule. Once there it felt like I had been taking my baby there for years. Everything ended up being ok with her and all her at home care instructions were throughly explained. Will definitely be back!

They were very expensive and told me that they could not save my dogs eye and even told me the only other option was to put her down In front of my 14 year old daughter. I found another vet and they were able to save my dogs eye l. This vet that saved it was very nice and did an amazing job. I would not take my pets back to a vca vet at all.

The staff and vets at VCA Animal Medical Center of NE Alabama are amazing! My sweet little female cat, Piper ran outside and ended up getting severely hurt. We were unable to find a vet who could see her in our hometown of Carrollton, GA. Thanks to a friend's recommendation, I called VCA and they did not hesitate to have us bring her in. They were the kindest vets I have ever met and very straightforward with their diagnosis and opinion. Unfortunately, our ending was not as we had hoped, but they were there with us throughout the entire ordeal and the utmost kindness and support was given. We have three other babies who need a doctor they can count on. I also need someone dependable in an emergency. This office is it. I don't mind the drive because I know they will be there and be with me and my baby!

I took my Great Dane in because he kept liking a wound on his foot. It should have been an $80- $150 visit. By the time I left his bill was well over $400 for extra tests and vaccines that had nothing to do with his foot that I was forced to do before they would see him and he came home sick. Now he is loosing control of his bladder, won't eat, and has kettle cough. All problems he wasn't having before I took him there. I asked if they could wave the fee to check him out. They aren't even willing to give a discount and are refusing to take any responsibility for the adverse affects that he is having. We won't be back. If I'm going to pay for him to be seen, it's not going to the people that got him sick.
