My doctor called my prescription in to the pharmacy. When I checked days later I was told it was out of stock. It is a popular medicine in short supply. They said it might come in Monday or Tuesday. I called Monday late afternoon and it was not in. I called Tuesday evening and they didn’t have any prescriptions for me in process and it was in stock. They said they would start the prescription. If I had not called and had them jump on it, they would have run out again.

Ok so my go to pharmacy was U-Save in Calera. Never had a problem with them. Anytime a doctor called in a med or I needed a refill I could get it within the hour, with the occasional need to order a special medicine. If they didn’t have it, it would be there next day. They were consistent. They recently closed down and transferred my meds to Walgreens in alabaster on 119 across from Publix and to make long numerous stories short, they are a nightmare to deal with. Their app, dealing with them personally or over the phone. Trust the reviews and save yourself the headache.

Tonight my under one year old got prescribed antibiotics, he needs them for an ear infection. When I got on the phone with them they told me they realized the medication that was called in as prescribed was over double the dose he should have. If these ladies wouldn’t have noticed I honestly do not know what would have happened. It took them a little while to get on the phone but, they are busy. Every single person in that industry is busy. They didn’t have to double and triple check the dosage, but they did. They went above and beyond and potentially saved my sons life. I could never thank them enough. To whoever you are keep up the good work!

Took 7 hours to fill one prescription, manager called the cops on us because i asked someone if they could take me and my wife 3 miles up the street to get home before our son for home of the bus and it was 2:30 because they took all day to fill another precription, this was outside by the way, the stocky little manager just happened to be by the door, what he is unaware of is that we give his store $500 each month for meds.

Called last night to move my prescription to this location because it's right down the road, and my other was an hour away. Sat on hold for over an hour with one caller ahead. Went on the app to get it done and they never had it transferred (I waited until the next day to try to give them enough time). I get that they're probably busy and the pharmacists are doing the best they can, but if you're medication is dire I'd go elsewhere for sure.

I am out of town visiting my family and honestly having the Urgent Care experience from a nightmare. But Heather and Steve were knowledgeable, kind, and patient with me. They helped me get the right meds and even helped get me discounted rates since I don't have health insurance. They definitely deserve a special shout out for wonderful service.

The techs are extremely kind here. They're the only reason I still use this place. They're always seems to be a problem, don't expect things to happen fast because it is the busiest Pharmacy in Alabaster. They're usually pretty good with the life saving medicines, but anything outside of that, they're always seems to be some kind of issue. For the biggest Pharmacy in the city, their systems and Technology seem to constantly be on the fritz, causing more delays. I don't blame the people that work there, I blame the massive Corporation for hoarding pennies and keeping their facilities barely running.

Pharmacy experience was terrible. The worst I’ve ever seen. Inside and out! Not good customer in the back of the store

Pharmacy is awful! Was told they had our hard to find medicine in stock. After having our doctor transfer the prescription over and calling 2x to make sure they had it and going to pick it up 3x (each time was told it wasn't ready yet to come back) I was then told that they NEVER even had the medicine in the 1st place. That it is on back order. They just don't have their act together at all. I don't ever leave reviews but we have wasted a lot of time and energy on this it's just ridiculous. The Male pharmacist talked me like I was crazy and the girl at the window was just rude. No apologies at all.

I waited in the drive thru for 10 minutes and by the time i got to the window they closed. They ignored me and put up cardboard in the window when i had a important prescription called in late that i needed. The unprofessionalism and incompetence that I have experienced at this location is mind boggling. Between the 1.9 star rating and the constant unhappy customers i see when getting my meds makes me think that the staff along with the pharmacist should seek other employment away from the customer service. Either way im moving my all my meds to Publix

The pharmacy staff at this location is ridiculous, so unprofessional, the pharmacist are slow , I think they got their license from Walmart, they tell you one things on the phone and a totally different story when you get there, the techs think they are smart when it comes to drugs, when really they are just reading the back of the label, I mean I can do that myself, I do not recommend the location….

Yesterday I dropped off a prescription for an antibiotic for my dad at 12:15. I advised I would be back at 2:30 to pick it up. I was told ok it would be ready. Got there between 2:45 and 3:00. Went through the drive through and got the 1 prescription that was ready (I assumed it to be the one I dropped off). When I got to my dad's, it was one of his regular prescriptions, which we had not called in to fill and he is not supposed to have any on auto refill. I went back to the pharmacy, went inside, explained the situation first about the auto refill in error. They removed from auto refill. By the way, we have to request this be done about every couple of months. No one seems to know how it gets back on auto refill, go figure. I then asked for his antibiotic prescription, which was dropped off at 12:15. I was told it would be ready in 10-15 minutes. Well an hour later I had the antibiotic. When I asked the tech why so long she said, "well, we've been slammed today". I, nicely, replied that my time is just as important as their time and they should have a prescription ready at the time they say it will be ready. We continually have issues with this particular Walgreens so we will be moving his prescriptions to either Publix or Wal-Mart pharmacy.

I had ordered photo Christmas cards from Walmart and they gave me the wrong size envelopes as they did not have the correct 5 x 7 size. I went all over Alabaster looking for the correct size and Walgreens was the only store had them in their photo department. They very kindly gave me the exact number I needed for my Christmas cards, which was above and beyond! Not only did they have the item I needed but they very kindly gave them to me and I was able to get my cards out in time for Christmas. Very grateful to the kind and generous staff at Walgreens who helped a desperate customer out!

I don't blame the pharmacists for how consistently terrible, late, and complicated it is to get prescriptions filled at this location because they are clearly stretched too thin. It's a 27 billion dollar company, you should staff your stores adequately.

If I could give negative stars I would. The worst customer service of any pharmacy I've ever used. They continued to send me notices of refills on a prescription that I no longer needed or could take after me notifying them and telling them I no longer could take that. When you try to call you are put on hold for 30 minutes or more, then you get cut off and have to call all over again, only to be put on hold. The drive-thru pick up is a nightmare. You wait there forever also. When I tried to leave a message for them to call me at the front counter, I was very rudely told, "There is nothing I can do for you." One particular pharmacist is extremely rude. I was also told their computer program was to blame for me being cut off, because I had been on hold too long. We are changing pharmacies, and will not use them ever again. I also tried calling the district office to try and get help - it was no better.

Update: I had to list a one for the review, because the pharmacist said she had a libre 2 sensor available. It could only be filled tomorrow. I went to Walmart instead. It was filled immediately. On a good note…The transparent film dressing is working well!

Made an online appointment for COVID-19 vaccine for my son. Arrived 15 min before the appointment, as instructed. After an hour of waiting, we still had not been given paperwork to fill out. They are understaffed and the staff they do have is under-trained. Two staff went on break while we were waiting. After an hour and 25 minutes, we finally got the shot. So after the 15 min waiting period, we were there a total of an hour and 45 min. Ridiculous.Thankfully, we do not use them for our prescriptions. So we have no reason to frequent this business.

We switched to Walgreens because of location convenience. We have had several prescriptions filled here and the majority of them have had an issue where we have had to return the next day to pick up our prescription. We have notifications set up but we never receive a call or text that something is wrong. The staff is always friendly and that is why they got two stars.

This Walgreens is always extremely busy. I’ve had to wait for 20 minutes in the drive through. They take at least 45 minutes to fill prescriptions. I scheduled my first Covid vaccination here and even that took 45 minutes. I came back today just now to get my 2nd vaccination and waited at the window for 5 minutes. Then someone told me it would be a while because 3 people were in front of me and the vials had to be taken out of the refrigerator to get to room temperature. They don’t seem to have enough staff. Either it’s that or they do not have a good workflow process. Do anything you can to avoid this location. They are very scattered and seem very unorganized. At least the girl was polite and told me it would be a while. That’s why they got 3 stars instead of 1. Time is valuable though and no one should have to wait for more than 10 minutes to get a shot. The actual shot doesn’t take that long. Because of this I left and don’t know when I will reschedule or if I will reschedule. But it won’t be at this location.

Everything is good except the wait. When the drive thru is 4 deep, someone needs to get moving. You’re in the drive thru because you ain’t time for this to be a freaking field trip.

Pharmacy is terribly understaffed. Took two days to get an RX filled when my insurance was already on file. Not taking customers in the order which they arrived and just overall poor customer service. Will be finding a new pharmacy as this is the second time in the last 3 months I’ve had an experience like this. Absolutely unacceptable.

I made the mistake of having a prescription sent to alabaster location at 5:40 when they were closing at 6. I stood in line and had prepared to ask them to send my prescription to another pharmacy if it was too late. They agreed and said the other pharmacy would have to call them, which they said they would. I asked if I was set to leave, was given the okay, so I headed to other pharmacy. They call me and say walgreens never answered their phone, that it went straight to operator saying they were closed. So, I head into traffic to go to hoover's 24 hour walgreen's pharmacy and I call ahead so they know to get it ready since it is a 30 minute drive. I was on hold for 25 minutes before they picked up. I figured--they must be super busy. 5 minutes later, I pulled in and there was no line, no rush, no hurry... they told me I had to wait another 15 minutes. When I inquired about why I had to sit on hold for 25 minutes if they weren't busy, "I dont know" was all I got. This woman could see I'd been crying (from worry over my kid) and I didn't get an apology, a rush job, kindness, nothing. If they had picked up their phone, they could have done the transfer for me at 6, and I could have had the meds to my sick child an hour earlier.

The pharmacy has been so unhelpful. I am a student at The University of Montevallo and I am not from the area thus promoting me to transfer my prescriptions down here. This process has tried to take place every day for the past three days and I am finally giving up. The first day it took me 10 minutes before I could talk to anyone and when they finally answered they said their phones are down. That in itself was sketchy because I was talking to them through their phone system, but I figured that they got something working. I gave them my information and they said that they would get that in and text me from their personal phones (that in itself is odd) when it was ready. I never got that text. The next day, around the same time, I went down to the store to pick up school supplies and I asked them about my prescriptions. They had to take my information again as their phones were down and their computers were acting up the day before and they didn't get to my order. They asked me when I needed it and I said the next day and they told me they would call it in right then. The final day, at the same time of day, I called them and checked my status of my prescriptions by putting in my information that they had to take twice (well technically three times as they asked me twice the first day for my information). They said that they couldn't find my order. They have some issues they need to work out if they want to be in this business as my prescription is actually important to my health.

Been there three times to pick up a prescription and waited almost an hour before leaving every time due to people getting covid tests and vaccines. How about serving your prescriptions before worrying about covid vaccines and tests. It’s a PHARMACY not a urgent care. Staff is completely incompetent.

So my wife, who cannot talk, rode her power chair up to the pharmacy window inside. After sitting there for a few moment the pexiglass partition comes down on her head...... yes today 11-8-21. I asked and found out that this was not the first time one of their plexiglass partitions had fallen. But it may have been the first time one hit an invalid lady on the head. Horrible, Awful! My wife is on hospice and takes a lot of medication. These poeple charged her $100 for something she did not need or want. They still have the prescription in their possession. Never opened. WALGREENS stil has the unopened prescription which they charged her for and will not refund to her. Well Walgreens your greed cost you all the money that you made filling all those dozens of other script for her. Hope that $100 was more important to you than it is to us. Bye bye

Horrible service! Prescriptions out of stock! I was told they have no idea when the RX will be in stock. Rude employees, one pharmacist, in particular, is slow and it seems as if he doesn't know what he's doing. They need to hire a few more employees. Moved all my prescriptions to Brooklere. They are friendly, and the pharmacists are friendly, courteous and knowable. If it's a new prescription, the pharmacist will discuss it with you, even at the driver through. I love Brooklere. The only negatives are their hours and the store isn't open on Sundays. Do what I did, ask them to transfer your prescriptions from Walgreens to Brooklere. You won't regret it.

Walgreens Alabaster doesn’t match their own website prices. I had to go find someone to come to the register. I went to another drug store and spent close to half as much for the same items. I still like Walgreens but this particular store is a dump.

Waited on phone over 20 minutes to ask a question about a medication I take that was recalled because of serious issues. When I finally got to talk to a pharmacist, they were less than friendly and told me I would have to bring it in before they could tell me anything. Since they gave out the medication and are aware of any problems concerning a medication, you would think they would know what's going on with it. Only time I have used Walgreens. Used CVS for years, never waited for a extended period to talk to anyone, even when they were really busy. The pharmacy at Walgreens in Alabaster gets a failing grade and will not get my business. CVS I'm coming back.

The worst. The pharmacy takes FOREVER to fill prescriptions. It doesn’t matter how busy (or not) they are, they’ll take forever. We switched to a Walgreens in another town and STILL get our prescriptions faster than this one so much closer to where we live. Definitely wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
