Nice store with everything for different pets with lots of snacks, food, toys, etc. They have live fish in aquarium, cats, birds, gerbils, guinea pigs, dragon lizards, and hampsters. It is nice to come with kids and see little pet animals and fish. And staff takes care of animals really hood. Their cages look clean, and they have food. Aquarium with fish looks clean. They have good prices too.

Purchased 50 ct. live large superworms and there were only 26 in the container, the rest of them were dead. Purchased on 4/1/24 with a date of "BORN ON 3/21/24". All the rest of the ones on the shelf looked the exact same. I told the worker they were dead, but she told me that they were just shedding. The container smelled and after counting them I'm missing 24 worms.

Thankfully, today the store didn't smell. Majority of the time when visiting, I don't smell anything. They keep the store pretty well kept.Sale prices are good. I found some near toys for my fur baby and she loves them. The crinkly toy is awesome. She loves the durable bone where you can hide treats.They have a peanut butter baked good near the front register. She ate it all up before I could take a picture. It was just that delicious to her.

Called to see about their renovation date and the person I spoke to gave me some attitude when I asked what fish they had available. She said that they were busy and that I would have to come. The purpose of the call was to see if they had fish that I wanted/need. If they didn't then what's the point of me going ? Definitely not to waste my gas and time....

WILL NEVER GET MY DOG GROOMED HERE AGAIN. I brought my 8 month pup to get groomed. I said I was not picky whatsoever with the cut, as long as her tail was cut down significantly. 4.5 hours later, The tail was NOT even touched. I witnessed Shannon E screaming at my dog through the window of the salon and she wondered why the dog was so stressed during the appointment. Shannon did not display any patience and willingness to work with my pet. I do not want anyone to have this happen to their fur baby. Please be careful when selecting your groomer.

A couple of weeks ago, we noticed our 1 year old Goldendoodle limping. Visiting from out of town, her vet was a couple of hours away. The vet at Pet Smart checked her out. It was a simple issue. Later that week, we got the bright idea that I could trim her hair. What a disaster! It was around 3:00. I called the grooming department there and said we have a grooming emergency. Lol. They said to bring her on in. They had to shave her, but they took care of her. Next, we plan to take a couple of Goldendoodle for beginning training. We'll let you know how that goes.

My mom had a grooming appointment today at the Alabaster Al store. She called in tears because of the treatment she received at this store. To summarize the experience, the store opened late and attempted to Vilify My Mom. When My Mom challenged comments made or reprimand, the grooming manager began to yell at my 58-year-old mother. She also told another store manager that my 58-year-old mother threatened her and cursed her—none of this which was true. Long story short, I’ve asked my mom not to patronize the store. She’s one customer, and I know Petsmart believes she will not affect their bottom line, but we also believe people should be treated with basic dignity and respect.

2.7.22I begin review/email/experience from the scariest of places today. Today I thought I wouldn’t see my baby Beanie again whole for a slight second. On today 2.7.2022 he was dropped off at PetSmart Grooming for this 10:30am appointment with Kelsey L. I chose a different groomer and cut on purpose trying to keep him safer. Upon dropping him off I met with the two young ladies at the front counter along with Kelsey to tell them that he would NOT be getting his usual (10 blade all over, clean hands, feet and face, nails grinded) since the last THREE visits he has been cut when I picked him up. The groomer Christy T performed these three services.1:18pm I get a call from Banfield informing that Beanie was involved in a incident next door at the Groomers. I instantly felt my heart sink as I didn’t know what she was about to say. I asked what happened as he is only there to get a haircut. I don’t recall her name it was either Ms. Jessica or Ms. Joe. She tells me that his eye has been cut really bad and he is with them and they are taking care of him. He will have to be put under to repair the cut as it must have stitches to close the wound. He has been giving something to numb the area so he is not in any pain. I almost passed out. I imagined because of his size that he lost his eye or half his little face is gone. She assured me that he was very much alert and alive and that they would call me as soon as he was out and awake. It would be a little while because there were some cases before him and he would need to be watched a couple hours afterwards. The call ends and I just cry. I feel horrible because I keep taking him there after I have been shown they aren’t capable. They are close to home and convenient. I tried another groomer in Alabaster before, actually 2, and hated the services and the products or cleanliness caused him to have a really bad skin reaction so I went back to PetSmart. I literally prayed that he would be okay. PetSmart Grooming calls me an hour later to inform me that my baby was injured. Manager Vanessa (I think) calls and states he was cut by the eye and Banfield has him and that she isn’t placing blame but Kelsey has only been grooming a year and that if she had known that he has had 3 prior incidents there that she would have requested me to schedule only with her. I then asked her as the manager how does she not know. I didn’t call about the scratch on the tummy but everything else should be noted. She states that only the ear cut was noted in his file but prior eye thing was not even though I called about it. I also asked how would I know that the groomers aren’t fully capable if they are on staff there. She states she sorry and she understands if I never bring him back there (she said this at minimum 5 times) and if I were too she’d like me to schedule with her. I assured her that he would NEVER be back there. I was over the call and ended the conversation. If I have to learn to groom him myself that’s what I will do but this cant happen to him again.

I shop here often for my fur babies. Everyone is always nice and helpful but this morning I left feeling I had been touched by an angel. Jase checked me out, on the receipt it states community cashier-797462. Jase was so kind and truly touched my heart. I hope Jase is recognized for not only giving superior service but also for being such an amazing human.

There are tons of adorable critters to look at for any kids, and a huge number of resources and materials for anyone looking to get a new pet or care for a current one.All the employees here are very knowledgeable; they helped my girlfriend and I figure out what fish to add to our tank to help take care of it, and also what to avoid.They have lots of pamphlets for new owners too, for any common sort of pet.and, honestly the store is just really fun to be in if you're going by or waiting for something or somebody. Pets are adorable.

Groomers cut our dog. We got a call this afternoon they had taken him to Steel City Emergency Vet, and upon reading other reviews I highly suggest not using this location for your pets grooming needs.

We have went several times lately and the first time the lady working the floor was super kind & helpful, but the cashiers were not very friendly. There is one in particular who is not friendly or helpful at all, she would not even respond to my kid who was excited ab his cat & she didn’t care at all that my coupon wasn’t scanned and when I told her she didn’t scan it then either, uhmm…I mean really?!

We were traveling south and had to stop because my car overheated. God provided the most wonderful people who gave us a room to let our kitty stretch, gave her a litter box, water and is some bottle as well. He even helped us avoid the construction that was going on down here. Thank you PetSmart!!!!

I like it better than the Hoover store. They have selections and the curbside pickup is terrific. It can get busy but the staff are always so polite. The dogs' food is always fresh and the bags have never been coated in dead insects like I came across in another location. Thank you!

Our 3 year old goldfish are all dead within days after introducing a snail from this Petsmart. I was told I could put the snail directly in the water after letting it acclimate to the temperature in the bag. I was not told to quarantine any new aquatic creatures. But I really wish I had! We had several happy goldfish just a few days ago. Some of which used to live in our pond and had grown very large and happy. I was told that the snails at PetSmart travel between multiple aquariums in PetSmart. I would be weary to buy any fish from them unless they plan to treat their tanks. I have notified them. From a Google search the disease our fish got might have been ich. It spread and killed our fish very quickly (within a few days) and according to forums I read, it is very difficult to treat with treatments every other day and water changes on all other days for 14 days straight. I get that it is difficult for PetSmart to prevent all diseases considering the animals they bring in regularly from different places. I just think others should be aware and that it would be a good idea for employees to recommend quarantining new animals before introducing to others.

This was our puppy’s first Groom. We had adopted her late at 6 months. She is really shy and nervous. I told the groomer this. I asked for advice on the cut and the groomer was no help. She told me it was whatever I wanted. When I picked up our puppy she was pretty much completely shaved and I was told that was what I asked for. IT WAS NOT. The groomer then told me what I should ask for next time. Our puppy had a cut on the inside of her ear as big as a quarter and her little bottom was cut. When asked how she did the groomer said, she didn’t like it at all and walked to the back. We will not be using them again. No help and did not mention or take responsibility for the cuts.

Shelves are usually well stocked, and I can typically find what I came for without assistance. The staff seem to know basic care of the reptiles and fish that they are selling. I did however once have a floor rep insist that I put a Betta Fish back on the shelf, and select a much prettier fish. When I explained that I had selected 'this' fish in particular because of his lack of color and poor shape, and worker stated she didn't understand people like me, and that they had prettier bettas to offer than 'that'. The betta lived for only 8 months, but with proper care, he became the most vibrant betta I have ever owned.

The product selection is definitely better than Walmart or Target. I was looking for dog food but ended up getting two collars, a leash, a dog bed, dog food, and more. The staff was friendly and helpful at checkout. Great experience!
